What power cord adapter can we use for both a 13" Macbook and a 17" Macbook Pro?
We need an additional powercord for our office that can charge two different laptops.

You can use a 85w adapter for both, because the MacBook can have the voltage regulated from 85w down to 60 for it to be compatible. You can NOT use the 60w on the MacBook pro. So just get the 85w for both. :)

This charger is for the 13" MacBook/MacBook Pro, *not* the 15" or 17" MacBook Pros which use an 85W adapter. While you can use the 85W adapter on a 13" MacBook/Pro, you cannot use the 60W adapter on the 15" or 17" MacBook Pros.

Is the 60W MagSafe Power Adapter dual voltage?

You will need a different attachment (but *not* a voltage converter) similar to the "duck prong" (2-prong plug) in the item's picture.
The easiest way to do this is to buy the "Apple World Travel Adapter Kit". This contains all the adapters you should ever need.
Just take off the two prong plug and snap on the adapter.- Answered by RH from Star City

I was sold an 85w adaptor for my new 13inch macbook pro-was this a mistake?
I already have an extra 60w adaptor but the salesman said it would not work for the macbook pro. Was he thinking of the 15" instead of the 13" that I was purchasing?

Only against defect in manufacturing or incomplete product, and for 30 days (standard store warranty). There is no warranty against physical damage, I.E. frayed cord.
To avoid a frayed cord, never wrap using included clips, rather wrap in a large loop and secure using velcro.- Answered by DR from Indio

Indirectly, yes, you can buy the World-Wide Adapter Kit which includes several AC plugs including ones for the US and Japan as well as UK (and Singapore/Hong Kong), Australia, Europe
and Korea.
You get get powercords and individual plugs from Apple parts resellers, or authorized service centers, but not from Apple directly.- Answered by OJ from SAN FRANCISCO
