Do you mean by physical means, like a cable or something? The answer is no. But they do connect virtually through your local area or wireless network. iOS devices can be used to control Apple TV, or even mirror their displays on it through AirPlay.

Best AnswerNo. Apple TV is NOT an add-on for your iMac. Apple TV is a set-top box, which is designed to connect to your TV, not your iMac.

AnswerNo, but what you can do is choose a provider who offers a television-app download for your ipad, such as my provider does, they normaly offer a combination of internet, television and phone

AnswerThe Apple TV needs to be connected to the same network (wifi or LAN) that your iPad is connected to in order to stream media from the iPad. The Apple TV doesn't work with cellphone service. Unless you set up your iPad as a hotspot (I think some cellular service companies allow that) so the Apple TV is on the same network as your iPad, the 4G data plan won't help mirror your iPad to the Apple TV.

Does Apple TV. can be used to stream local television programs? I do not have a subscription to cable, fios tv or direct tv., so I use an indoor antenna. Can Apple TV. replace the use of antenna.

Best AnswerYes, kinda. There is a new service called Aereo that is being rolled out which will enable you to skip the antenna alltogether. I wanted to input the link, but that is not allowed. Do a search for Aereo & Apple TV. It is available in NYC now, and will be rolled out to DC later this year. Hope this helps!

Can I AirPlay Youtube videos from my iPhone 4S to Apple TV without turning on mirroring functionality?
When I touch the AirPlay icon while I watch Youtube videos from my iPhone 4S only the sound transmitted to the TV through Apple TV. I would like to know how the video can also be transmitted to the TV without turning on the full mirroring functionality from iPhone 4S to Apple TV.

Best AnswerThanks for the answer. I actually should have asked watching Youtube videos when they are played with the new Youtube application (then one downloaded after iOS 6 erased the original Youtube application).
Because, I was able to Airplay the Youtube videos when I play them through Safari (open Safari application, go to Youtube.com, play any video). However, I was not when I used Youtube's own application for iPhone.
That would be great if you could help with this additional information.
