Can you connect 2 external hard drives to the Airport Extreme?

Do you need an adapter to connect two USB hard drives or is there another way? Do you need any other software to make them work?

What is the maximum length usb cable I can use to connect a 2tb external hard drive to an airport extreme?

I live in tornado alley and would like to place my hard drive in a secure location in the basement, leaving the router upstairs. The approximate run needed to do this would be 20 feet. I am aware of the possibility of the cable length causing a response delay in peripherals, but not sure if the airport extreme will experience a problem with that.
I currently am using an ipod touch and a PC, sony PS3, and Wii, but plan to add more Apple products within the year.

External Hard drive attached to AirPort Extreme Base Station questions ?

Hi,

A few questions below


1) What is the file system that the External Hard drives mounted via USB to the AirPort Extreme Base Station uses ?

Is it HFS ? I need network attched storage for HFS format to store iphoto libraries across computers without have both turned on . I have NAS support now for NTFS and EXT3 but iphoto does not work on those partition types very well.

2) If I set up the hard drive mounted via USB to the AirPort Extreme Base Station to have multiple partitions will all of those portions be seen by my MAC computers? I.e if I set up a partition for time machine of a macbook, a partition for a time machine of a mac mini, and then a third for data sharing will all be mounted and seen by the macs.

3) Can you rsync a hard drive attached to the AirPort Extreme Base Station to another hard drive attached to the AirPort Extreme Base Station if using a external hub . . I.e create a backup copy of the HFS drive .

I have broadband from O2. Do I use the airport extreme instead of the router O2 have given me? If so, how do I set it up?

Or do I plug the Airport extreme into the O2 router? I mainly want the airport extreme to speed up the network and also to enable me to connect an external hard drive to the network.

Can I have my WD My Book Studio external hard drive firewired to my iMac and also hooked up to airport extreme via USB?

I have a WD My Book Studio that is capable of both firewire and USB connections. With the apple airport extreme, can I have the external hard drive firwired to the iMac (so I always have a reliable connection), and also have it connected to the airport extreme via USB? (so it can be accessed by other computers on the network?)

If all my iTunes music is located in external hard drive, connected to Airport Extreme, will my computer still access those files in iTunes?

How do I connect my iPad to an USB drive attached my Airport Extreme from the Internet

I have an USB external hard drive connect to my Airport Extreme that I share over the Internet. I can access the drive from my MAC while traveling.

Question: How can I access the drive from my iPhone/iPad while traveling?
