Does the delete button also function as a backspace button?

Some delete buttons only work purely as a delete button. That is- you have to put the cursor behind the word you are deleting. So in the precious sentence I would have to put the cursor over the n to delete the g. So, does the delete button work as a backspace button when typing or a purely delete button?

    Hold the Function (Fn) button and press delete.

  • The delete button works the same as a backspace button. If you want to delete a letter/word etc. you must place the cursor on the right side.
