The 5th generation iPod touch is certainly a worthy upgrade from the last iPod touch. It has the faster a5 chip, larger screen, Siri, and a better camera. It also supports iOS 7, which is something you can't say about the 4th Generation iPod touch (even though it really should support iOS 7 because it is just as powerful as the iPhone 4). Something to keep in mind is that the 1st Generation iPad Mini is just as powerful as the iPod touch and you can get it for the same price. Decide if you need something small or more productive (because of the iPad Mini's bigger screen). I myself have both an iPad Air and an iPod Touch and I use my iPod touch when I can't bring my iPad with me and when need a good camera. Keep in mind that the 5th Generation iPod touch may be outdated by the end of the year because Apple will probably announce the 6th Generation iPod touch. While the 5th Generation iPod touch may be a worthy upgrade, you may still be better off getting the 1st Generation iPad Mini or just waiting.

Is up to you, well I think you should upgrade to the newer iPod because you see that 5th generation Touch is more improve and more powerful than the the 4th also 5th generation have Siri and the loop. The loop is something like a wrist band preventing the iPod from dropping. Hope this help you a lot I would appreciated it.v

Well the IPod touch 5th gen is more expensive and you could buy a tablet that's cheaper than the IPod touch 5th gen, But if you want the new features like siri and IOS 7 and the better camera than go for it.

I disagree with Raul's implication that you can't use the iPodTouch 5th generation for email. I use it for email! It comes with the same "mail app" as the iPhone, exactly the same, and I use it regularly for both my Yahoo and iCloud accounts. I love it! The only difference would be that the iPhone comes with cellular capability, including the cellular phone itself and the cellular data capability, whereas the iPodTouch requires WiFi for "connectivity." Basically the Touch is an iPhone without the cellular connectivity. With the phone, you can get your email wherever you can get cellular reception, whereas with the iPod Touch you can only retrieve new incoming email if you have a WiFi connection. However, once you've brought your email "into" the inbox (or moved it into a folder), you can read it even without the WiFi because the mail is resident on the internal storage.

Well I feel that the Ipod touch 5th gen is better because: it has a better camera, faster hard drive, better resolution. The bad sides with the 5th gen is that its very expensive, the screen is bigger( it dosent fit me because im 13) and also it depends what you are using it for, if you are using it for games the get an iPod, but if for other stuff (eg like emails) get an iphone which is worth it for the price and what you get. Hope this comes in handy and you make the right decision.

Yes, the iPod 4 gen is not being sold anymore. That is because it is not compatible with the iOS 7 and is very slow. Once a new apple product comes out they get rid of the old version.
