is the charger the same for ipad and iphone?
Can I use the same cable that came in the iPad box to charge both my iPad and my iPhone 4S? They appear to be the same, but I want to make sure.

The Ipad Charger is 10 Watts the Iphone Charger is 5 Watts.
This means that the IPAD charger will charge 2X faster at 2 Amps vs 1 Amp for the Iphone Charger. Using a computer or Laptop is 2.5 Watts aka .5 Amp max.
All Work for Iphone or Ipad But the 10 Watts will charge the Ipad Faster.- Answered by Ann O from Washington

Yes they both work, but the Ipad charger will work at half speed if you use the Iphone charger. The dedicated Ipad charger is now super fast, and it will work on your Iphone too.
I'd reccommend buying the dedicated chargers, and as the new Ipad is fanastic but a fair bit of money (and worth every penny!) go for the powerful charger first, and then get the charger for the Iphone.- Answered by Leonie F
