Beware if you want to stream on demand!
I bought this adapter with the intention of connecting my ipad to my tv and streaming apps such as Lovefilm, BBC iPlayer and 4od. I bought this adapter with the intention of connecting my ipad to my tv and streaming apps such as Lovefilm, BBC iPlayer and 4od. Be aware that none of these applications will work when connected via HDMI to a display. You will receive a notification that states the app does not support.
Possibly ignorance on my part, but to me, this was a big plus point of buying the adapter in the first place. I contacted 4od and received the below response when I asked why there was no support:

After Cru If you get the "Mode not supported" message when you try to hook up this adapter and HDMI cable to your TV, don't panic! After Crutchfield (where I bought my TV) assured me that it SHOULD work, I did some experimenting and found the solution! There are four HDMI jacks on the back of my TV, but only one of them says HDMI/DVI. I have no idea what that means, but that's the jack that works! So it makes sense now that the reviews here and on Amazon are a mixture of "Works great" and "Doesn't work!" If you happen to plug it into the right jack it does work beautifully. If you just put it in a regular HDMI jack, no good. So give that a try. I hope it works! …
