With FW400 devices you will get a maximum of 400Mbps (~50 MB/sec), and with FW800 you will get a maximum of 800Mbps (~100 MB/sec). That will be your throughput ceiling, your drives won't be able to take full of advantage of Thunderbolt's speed. …More
