How long does the black Macbook battery last?
First, is there a difference from the Li-Ion and Li-Polymer battery. And how long will each of them last?
- Asked by Ron P from Cave Creek

Best AnswerYes there is a difference between the two of them. It just has to do with they way the work and the life of the battery. However all you can get for the MacBook is the polymer battery. On mine I have had it over a year and I still get about 4 to 5 hours and I use it for internet and to take notes in college.

How many cycle charges for MacBook White battery?
- Asked by Ben H from Stonewall
- Mar 13, 2012
- Flag as inappropriate
Best AnswerMy cycle count was slightly above 350 when it began to tell me I should consider replacing it. It is now over 400 and telling me I should replace it soon. I intend to do so. I have a habit of letting it almost completely discharge before recharging it. I have had this unit for over 4 years and it has been my principal home computer.

can i use a 85w magsafe to charge my black macbook?
I know that it will charge my laptop but is it bad for my battery or computer to use the 85w instead of 60w?
- Asked by Reid W from Fort Thomas
- Feb 21, 2010
- Flag as inappropriate
Best AnswerYes you can.
The difference in Wattage has only to do with the load the power supply can handle. So your black MacBook uses maximum 60W , that means that the power supply of 85W, in theory, will work better for itself, since will not work in its limits.- Answered by Georgios A

Can I install this battery myself, or do I take it to a service center?
My MacBook battery shows no signs of life, and I need to replace it. Can I take the old one out and install the new one myself, or is it complicated enough that I need to take it to a service center or the Apple Store?
- Asked by Lorraine W from Staten Island
- Mar 22, 2010

Best AnswerIt is easy to replace. Use a quarter to turn the lock on the back, lift the old battery out, put the new battery in, lock it back up. The Apple Store would likely do it free for you, but there is nothing to it-- it is made to be user replaceable.

I have a 2011 Macbook Pro 13" MD313LL/A, which battery is compatible?
- Asked by Kou V

Best AnswerNot sure why the other two answers are being voted unhelpful by the community. They're totally right. The batteries in the 2011 MacBook Pros are not user-serviceable and you have to take it into an Apple Store to get it replaced.

2010 macbook pro battery replacement

Best AnswerI did my own research and found that the battery must be replaced at an Apple store or reseller. Probably because there is no easy consumer access and there is better access to recycling. I'm not sure about the reason. The cost is $129 at this time.

Best AnswerHi Anthony
I recently ordered a replacement MacBook Rechargeable Battery so can hopefully help here.
The battery I ordered was a "MacBook Battery (White)" Model A1185 and the Apple product code was MA561G/A. So it does indeed seem to match the product you are asking about.

AnswerCall 1-800-MY-APPLE and give them your SN... They will tell you the right battery to buy. I also have a late model macbook, and this was the right battery for me. Just to be safe though, take 10 minutes and call Apple to confirm.
