Ideally you should take out the memory you have an insert
2X Memory 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM takin g it to 4G
But that is often harder to find and more expensive
You are *probably* safe with
2 X 2 GB 800MHz DDR2 SDRAM

You can't add any ram module to MacBook Air.
