These batteries are great let me tell you. I average 4 hours per charge with brightness and keyboard backlighting at 25% and with airport connected. With 2 of these batteries I almost never have to plug in my laptop during the day, only once I get home for the night and put my laptop away to use my MacPro

I was there for 2 ½ weeks - reason why I purchased my first 13” Aluminum Macbook (which by the way it’s awesome!) - Anyway, after I purchased my Macbook, I realized that one battery will probably not be enough as the plane ride was pretty long. I decided to order another battery and let me tell you, I am glad I did! It was perfect for my trip, I got to see a couple of movies and work with pictures while in the plane and train rides of the trip. Changing the battery is a breeze, takes me about a minute to do it… very easy!

I totally recommend it, especially if you have to travel often. About the charge life, I experienced 4 hrs, but this is watching movies and with airport on (Blue tooth off). You may be able to get 5 hrs out of these batteries if all that you are doing is word processing.

    Enjoy!

Connecting to the internet won't help, but it will still last enough.

Buying it will help on long trips.

I intended to buy the battery, but I was fortunate enough to get it for free, so it's hard to complain. After about a year and a half, it still lasts a good two hours or so under standard usage, which isn't too bad. I certainly wouldn't mind it lasting longer, especially under heavier usage (read: gaming). My computer is a 2011 model, and I plan on buying another batter once this one dies, rather than buying a new laptop.

Apple should take note of this battery only lasting 1 year from many users.
Many Apple customers have a mind set that all Apple products are perfect. If Apple sold a cable with no conductors in it, some would say "5 star because it has a perfect plastic tube".
Until I see an improvement in the reviews for this product I will not purchase this item.

Charging habits will contribute greatly to your battery's longevity. If your notebook stays fully charged at all times the batter Charging habits will contribute greatly to your battery's longevity. If your notebook stays fully charged at all times the battery will loose its ability to hold a healthy charge. Running your battery through its designed draining and charging cycles will ensure a long productive life for your battery! This doesn't mean you have to completely drain the battery to 0% before charging, in fact that is not a good idea!

    Standard Maintenance
For proper maintenance of a lithium-based battery, it’s important to keep the electrons in it moving occasionally. Apple does not recommend leaving your portable plugged in all the time. An ideal use would be a commuter who uses her notebook on the train, then plugs it in at the office to charge. This keeps the battery juices flowing. If on the other hand, you use a desktop computer at work, and save a notebook for infrequent travel, Apple recommends charging and discharging its battery at least once per month. Need a reminder? Add an event to Calendar on your desktop. When your battery no longer holds sufficient charge to meet your needs, you may choose to replace it. If your notebook came with a built-in battery, you should have the battery replaced only by an Apple Authorized Service Provider.

    Long-Term Storage
If you don’t plan on using your notebook for more than six months, Apple recommends that you store the battery with a 50% charge. If you store a battery when it’s fully discharged, it could fall into a deep discharge state, which renders it incapable of holding any charge. Conversely, if you store it fully charged for an extended period of time, the battery may experience some loss of battery capacity, meaning it will have a shorter life. Be sure to store your notebook and battery at the proper temperature. (See “Notebook Temperate Zone.”)Notebook Temperate Zone. Your Apple notebook works best from 50° to 95°F. You should store them in places with temperatures of -13° to 113°. That’s 10° to 35°C and -25° to 45°, for the metrically inclined. Keeping your Mac as near room temperature as possible (22°C) is ideal.

My current battery capacity is at 8051mAh after 133 charging cycles (17 months 5days). The full capacity when new was 8400mAh. You should expect to get 1000 charging cycles or about 5 years (depending on frequency of use) before your battery reaches 80% of it's original charging capacity.Charge Information:
