NO NEED TO BUY FOR iPHONE 3Gs !!!

    • Written by from Paignton

You do not need to buy this version of the Nike+ Sport Kit if you own a iPhone 3Gs. You can buy the one for £12 for the sensor only as the iphone has a built in receiver so the one in the packaging is not needed !

If you have an iPod Nano you will need to buy this version (with the receiver).

I LOVE THIS PRODUCT; EXCELLENT GIFT IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO LIKES TO RUN !

    The Best!

I recently started using the Nike+iPod kit and it has helped me to track my running. Also after you have setup an account on nikerunning.com website you can take part in global challenges from other users, you can set goals and targets, add new friends. These tools have helped me to be consistent and motivated.

    wonderful motivational tool

    • Written by from Bingley

This device is a superb, motivational way to get into & continue running. I would recommend it to anyone who may have an interest in or a desire to run, but sometimes find it difficult to get yourself out there doing it! It really has worked for me. I'm watching what I eat/drink more and am loving seeing the results. Have been using mine regularly since 11th August (apart from 1 week off) and can now fit into clothes that I haven't been able to fit into for some time!
I find that I can't wait to plug it into the Mac, so my graphs and stats can be updated. I have set mine up to automatically update my Facebook profile which is an extra motivating factor.....i.e. got to improve on my last run of all my mates are gonna see it!
I don't know how accurate the readings are that I get, I have calibrated mine and it's telling me that i'm running 5k every second day now & am increasing bit by bit every run.
The Nike+ compatible trainers were £70 but I had these bought as a present, which helped. These trainers didn't agree with me to start off with, so I temporarily switched back to my old ones, putting the sensor down the inside of the laces. I saw little difference with my readings, but was more conscious of losing the sensor and being concerned things just weren't 'right'. Now i'm back using my Nikes & happy.
What can I say other than.............superb

    Fantastic

    • Written by from Preston

I asked for this product as a birthday present having been reccomended one by a friend who also runs. I have been using it as a training aid in preparation for the race for life. I think it is fantastic, it is pretty accurate (I have used to "map it" function of the web-site via google maps to check the actual distance of the routes that I run)following a 1/4 mile callibration. It is a great motivational tool as I can press the button on my i-pod when I am starting to feel tired and when I realise I havn't got long to go I feel able to push myself a little harder.
I would definately reccomend this to my friends. The only problem with it is you really need to buy the nike+ shoes as when I tried attaching it to my shoe laces with a sandwich bag as suggested in a you-tube video it lost all it's accuracy. I ended up using a knife to make a hole in my shoe's insole to put it in. This worked for me as I have orthatics in my shoes.
    Hope this is helpful

    Super Kit

    • Written by from Tunbridge Wells

I love this kit, I purchased the Nike trainers first, then the kit, and I have to say, I couldnt run without music now, and when I have done a really good run, either beating my time or distance, I look forward to hearing Paula Radcliffe, or other sports personalities congratulating me on my best performance!
    Fantastic piece of kit

    Brilliant!

    • Written by from BRISTOL

As a relatively unfit 60 year-old, I am delighted with the Nike + . It has given me the incentive to go out for a run/brisk walk every morning and I can't wait to get back and plug in to see how I'm doing. I don't know how accurate it is - I imagine for me not very, because my pace length isn't as constant as a seasoned runner. But that doesn't matter - what's important is that I've managed a run every morning for a couple of months, I feel much better and I'm losing weight! And, although I have the proper Nike shoes for running, I can get the sensor to work simply by putting it under the tongue of my walking boots!

A cool piece of kit reasonably priced

    • Written by from Upton

Finally something has come along that does exactly what it says it will and they haven't charged the earth for it. The Nike+ipod could not have been simpler to use as you would expect from Apple. I already had the Nano so no outlay there. I don't feel the need to buy new trainers when I have perfectly good ones at the moment (and Nike ones at that) so I paid £20 for the Marware Sportsuit Relay which is perfect.

I found the nike+ipod sport kit in HMV for £20, tip for students if you have the student discount ard then its only £18. So all in all the whole kit for less than £40. There aren't any gyms that could match that king of price.

The information this kit throws out is awesome for the first time runner (which I am); calories, speed and distance. It really motivates you to get out there and pound the pavements especially if your competitive and you set a few goals on the nikeplus website. With all the little widgets they've added so you can display your information on your facebook or myspace this is a really polished product and a must if your overweight and already have the nano.

    Enhance your running experience

    • Written by from Glasgow

I was given the Nike+ kit as a gift and I can truly say that it has inspired and motivated me to achieve goals that I would have had a hard time reaching before.

The online service is fantastic for analysing your runs, setting yourself goals and hosting challenges with other users. I am now running a 10K in a decent time - quite a feat for someone who was quite overweight last year!

The Nike+ iPod Sport Kit is not going to do the running for you, but it will give you inspiration and motivation when you need it most. 5 stars.

    Excellent!!!

    • Written by from Hilton

My wife and I bought this in the hope that it would motivate us to go running. It has!!! All of the features on the Nike + website are excellent, from the goals to the challenges (Which are especially good for getting lots of friends & family involved). I strongly advise that you use the Nike + trainers, these coupled to the ipod have proven to be very accurate!! And just remember, if you set your power song to be "eye of the tiger" you too, can pretend to be Rocky!!

    Typically Apple

    • Written by from BECKENHAM

Plugs and plays straight out the box, just as you'd expect from Apple. I haven't calibrated it and the distances are within 10's of meters on a typical run of 3 miles. I am not a professional runner and having the goal setting feature is great for motivating me. Buy this product. It is excellent.

This product is great for the price!!! not like other products apple do which are very expensive. The ultimate workout machine. But I do advise you to buy the nike+ shoes
    if you want perfect accuracy.

    Love it

Much smaller and finicky than similar footpods from e.g. Polar and the integration with the iPod is great. No need to try and read your watch, a voice tells you everything you need to know as you are running.

When you sync your iPod with iTunes your workout gets uploaded automatically to a web based analysis programme. No need to install software (if it even exists for your mac) or need to deal with infrared receivers that never work.

Rather than buy the (average) nike shoes, I bought a little footpod pouch from Marware which fastens the footpod to your laces of your favourite brand of running shoe. Brilliant!!

    Sensor accuracy

    • Written by from myrtleville

I absolutely loved this product when I first got it and have built up about 15 runs now on Nike plus .com. However I am disappointed to find that it is not as reliable now. I ran 6 miles yesterday and the sensor only picked up 2.65. I had to delete my run as this would skew all the data already recorded (2.65 miles in 1 hour at pace 23 mins per mile!!) I noticed that this is happening more often now. Anybody else found this.

    Great motivating tool!

    • Written by from St Albans

This has been a great buy....it's a cinch to set-up and use visa the sync with the Nike website via itunes, and the really gorgeous simple graphics make tracking your progress of distance/time/pace etc very easy. It certainly a great motivator for getting you out on another run just to see the results! Nice little surprises happen toowhen you reach new milestones...won't give anymor away.

As with other users, no need to use the aesthetically pleasing but biomechanically suspect nike running shoe efforts (triax structure the noteable exception to the rule but not included in the + range)....a slit cut in the tounge of my motion control trainers and the sensor slips in and stays put under the laces. Let a good running store, not a high street sports shop make sure you're in the right shoe or your increasing mileage may leed you to the physio instead of new levels of running fitnesss!
