whats the difference between beats and beats solo?
I'm talking about the beats headphones by dr. dre and the beats solo headphones

Best Answer
Beats by Dr. Dre Solos are "on ear" and are noise reducing. They do cancel out some of the noise because they fit so flush on your ear. The Beat's Solos are 200 and they say that the headphones snap easily; they also only come with one cord.
Beats by Dr. Dre Studios are "over ear" and are noise canceling with two AAA batteries. They will cancel out most, if not all of the outside noise. Beat's Studios are 300 and are a little more durable. They come with two separate cords. One purely for music and one for music and talking on your iPhone.
Both of them sound AMAZING!- Answered by Ryan H from Oklahoma City

What's the difference between the Solo HD and the Solo?
The HD version is $30 more. What are you paying for?

I believe Dr. Dre stated in his latest interview that the Solo HD's have High Definition technology. Sadly, they still haven't fixed their build flaw. This flaw causes these great headphones to snap like a twig. If you plan on getting these, do be careful with them.

Does this headphones allow you to change songs with the build in mic???
- Asked by Pillo R from Villa De Alvarez

Best Answer
Yes! If you press the button in the middle of the mic once, you can pause/play a track. If you press it twice (consecutively), you can skip forward to the next track. If you press it three times (consecutively), you can skip back to the previous track. Of course, the buttons on either end control the volume. I just tried it on my iPhone 4 (iOS 5) to make sure. Hope this helps! :) Also, pressing the middle of the mic one time can accept incoming calls and end them once you are finished, while pressing and holding the button for approx 2 seconds will reject them. If you happen to be on a call, you can accept an incoming call and put your current call on hold by pressing the middle button once. If you want to answer the incoming call and end the current call, press and hold the middle button for 2 seconds.

What is the difference between Beats, Beats Studio, and Beats Solo
- Asked by Katherine K from North Kingstown

Best Answer
Monster Beats is just the name for the headphone line. The Studio Beats features noise canceling in an over-ear design that require two AAA batteries (included). These are the high dollar ones ($299). Solo Beats are the smaller version. They do not have noise canceling in them and they sit on the ear. They also don't require any batteries to operate. These run a bit cheaper ($179).

the answer to this question is solely based on what you are using to listen to you music. not the headphones, but what device are you actually using? in a hardware perspective, the beats studios are made of a plastic material where as the pros are made of aluminum. further more, the beats studios have their ear cups fold at a certain point in the headphones into the band of the headphones whereas the pro's ear cups swivel into the head band. also, the studios are active noise cancellation, where as the pros are passive, meaning the studios take batteries while the pros dont (remember that that active noise cancellation is stronger than passive in this case). the pros also include the feature called daisy chaining where you can literally plug in another pair of headphones in the pros and have to people listen to something from the same source (like a splitter built into the headphones) while the studios lack this feature, the studios also have a mute button the on headphones themselves on the beats logo, this feature did not carry over to the pros. in terms of specs, if you are a dj with a high output music player (THIS MEAN NOT AN IPOD OR IPHONE) than the pros will provide a more clear sound in all areas, while the studios are still very high performance headphones, they are not as good as the pros. all in all, if you are going to use an ipod or your phone other than a zune than the sound quality is the same on these two headphones, at that point its just a matter of build quality (pros are a better build than the studios as the pros are NOT MADE OF PLASTIC), style (the studios honestly look better than the pros) and portability (the pros weigh ALOT, can cause neck strains... while the studios are very light. sorry this got so long.. just wanted to help!

I got these headphones about a month ago, and have listened to them for a couple of hours every day. I'm still using the batteries that were originally supplied with the headphones. Of course, battery life would depend on the volume you listen at, but I've been listening at about 1/2 volume on the iPhone so the battery life is pretty good.

the beats by Dr. Dre headphones have Remote and Mic?
;):)
- Asked by Francisco C from Los Angeles
- 17-Oct-2009
- Flag as inappropriate
Answer
It has a mic but it does not have a remote. The switch is directly on the headphone to power it, unless that you are referring to the fact that you can control your ipod touch or iphone from the phone cord (The black one - as the red one is solely for audio transfer to the headphones). yes you can do that but control is still limited.

Can they be used without the noise cancellation? That is, can you turn it off. Or, if the batteries die will they continue to work
The Bose and other noise cancelling headphones do not allow use without the noise cancellation and will not work when the batteries run out. Fall asleep once with them on and you are going to be putting in new batteries. Take a long flight and you need spare batteries. How does it work with the Monster Beats Studio?
- Asked by D. Neal M from Dayton
- 30-Nov-2009
- Flag as inappropriate
Best Answer
Once the batteries die, you cannot use the headphones. Just like the Bose. Unfortunately, the headphones rely fully on battery power to operate and it cannot be bypassed as it has only one switch which either goes "on" or "off" The only plus they have over the bose is that the batteries last for week after weeks (usually over 4 weeks), while the Bose lasts only for a day (24hrs) or so.

Does the sound leakage drive you away from these headpones?
I herd that these headphones leak a lot of sound and I was woundering if it is better to get the bose 15 who say they do not leak as much. Is it worth going to the bose because of the beats leakage?
- Asked by Elliot D from Dundas
- 28-Mar-2010

Answer
In my opinion, yes. I bought a pair and am returning them because of the sound leakage. I want to use them for work and even at a pretty low volume they leak. I can't have everyone hearing what I'm listening to. It pains me to do it though, cuz I think they are so great. Think i will get the sennheiser PXC350 or 450 instead.

Because the headphones have a built in mic can I use them on my Xbox 360 as my headset and mic for Xbox live?
- Asked by Michael P from Manchester
- 20-Nov-2009
- Flag as inappropriate
Best Answer
The only hope you'd have of this working is if the headset for the xbox360 has either a 1/8" or 1/4" plug...and I'm not completely sure, but I'm fairly certain it's smaller. If it is, in fact, smaller, I know that there are some non-Microsoft companies that sell adapters so you're capable of using larger plug sizes.

How long should I "burn-in" the Studio Beats? Also, what should I use? Pink noise or my ipod music?
- Asked by Praful P from Tallahassee
- 27-Dec-2009
- Flag as inappropriate
Best Answer
There is no current scientific evidence that favours any of the different methods of 'burning-in' a set of headphones over the rest. About 100 hours is the standard time, but I've always liked to let mine break in naturally if they're for recreational listening. Any source will do, although there are websites that offer 'specialized' software for the job, but don't get sucked in to paying money for it, you can accomplish the same thing with any audio source.

Answer
i believe that the previous answer might be a bit biased, and might misinform future customers. to clarify, yes it is true that the QC3 is not a good comparison as the other user mentioned, the QC15's although often compared would also not be a good comparison with the beats by dr dre studios. i own both of these headsets, so when people ask me which one to buy, i usually ask them why they want the headphones... not trying to be rude, i just ask them what their needs are, bass, highs, mids, lows, comfort or noise cancellation, all are important factors.
the QC15's are a great pair of headphones when it comes to noise cancellation and comfort. those two components are the key reasons why bo
se made these headphones. consider the ability to play music, a bonus despite it performance. these head phones are used by many travelers, for good reason, since i use these during my air travel, as soon as i put the headphones on, there are no other sounds on the plane other than my thoughts and the music that i play.the Beats by dr dre were also created with a purpose, sound. not noise cancellation. therefore the noise cancellation on them is not the best, yes it does take out a bit of the background noise, but because this feature was not monsters key goal, you can still hear people talking around you, or hear foot steps. but! the sound quality on these headphones is superb. the highs mids and lows can be heard very clearly and the bass is as the other reviewers have stated, is BOUNCING! kid cudi's day and nite? on full blast can literally vibrate your whole head. i would also like to add that these headphones are also very comfortable.in conclusion... its up to you, do you want sound? or noise cancellation, because other than those two ingredients, these headphones are equally as good as the other. note that the beats are more stylish and come with a lot more prestige. but you know that. other wise you would be looking at sanheisers for sounds quality. lets be honest here- Answered by Willy C from Kirkland
