Does this work in the Philippines?
- Asked by Brett G from Victor Harbor

Best AnswerYou don't need this in the Philippines. Their plugs are like the US plugs just without the ground. My chargers for Macbook and Ipods worked fine, since they're rated 100-240V.

Best AnswerI was in India 8 days ago and found combo outlets nearly everywhere that will support European and american style plugs. One hostel only had UK style but they had an adapter that worked for me. I have not needed a voltage converter (220-110) in over 10 years anywhere as most everything, including my mac, easily handles 110-240v automatically. The transformers are mostly a scam these days. not needed unless you need to plug in your 1967 electric typewriter while travelling.

Best AnswerThe 1st answer is incorrect...... I bought this kit to be able to change the plug head on the 85W Mag Safe Power Adapter for my new MacBook Pro - 15". When I travel to any one of 25 countries I regularly visit throughout the world, it has worked just fine! The fact that there is a USB cable and power adapter for my iPhone in the box was an added bonus!

The plug with two round poles. (There are two plugs that match this description. Use the one with the larger poles. The one with the smaller poles that are angled slightly inward is the "europlug".)

Electricity in Cuba, the Cuban power outlets are suited for use with the US American flat pin type electrical plugs. In general the voltage in Havana is 110V AC 60Hz , but some newer hotels have 220 V AC 60 Hz too. Travellers from Europe need a plug adaptor to use their electrical equipment. It is recommended to use a surge protector for electronic apparatus, laptops, portable videoplayer etc. Cubans use surge protectors on every electrical equipment of value, TV set, video, fridge to protect them against the frequent electrical surges and spikes.

Does this come with the adapter for use within aircrafts?
- Asked by Virginia C from Penrith
- 26-Oct-2009
- Flag as inappropriate
AnswerThat would depend on the type of aircraft power outlet. Although some aircraft still have the regular aircraft socket, many now use AC power outlets. If the aircraft has AC outlets, then this kit should fit all outlets. If the craft uses the traditional DC outlets (power sockets), then no.

Does anyone know whether Russia uses the same plugs as Continental Europe?
I am going on a Russian river cruise. I know the ship is Russian, so I assume it has the same electrical outlets as they do ashore in Russia. Don't know whether the standard Continental European plugs are used in Russia or not.
- Asked by John M from Ferrisburg
- 01-May-2011
- Flag as inappropriate
Best AnswerThe standard socket type in Russian Federation is TYPE F, which is used in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Portugal, Spain and most East European countries. Some Soviet-era sockets still feature narrow, outdated TYPE-C pins, but it's rather hard to find those nowadays - so rest assured, you're safe :)
