Yes, it will work with Voice Memos and apps such as shazam and skype. However, the iPod Touch 3G 8GB does not have Voice Control capability.

My guess is Yes! Apps that need voice in them such as voice memos and in your case, "Skype", are made for the built in mic or the external mic that you would find on this head set. The voice apps like Skype are partly made for mics. To round it up yes you can use this particular headset for Skype and other related apps.
P.S:
If you are unsure on whether or not the Earphones/Remote/Mic will work on some apps, just check on the requirements that are located on the right hand side down the bottom of every app on the App Store.- Answered by JT from Gosford

To get to the next track, you press the center button on ur remote twice. To get the the previous track, you press the center button on ur remote three times.

It Is Only Turned On When You Open An App Requiring A Microphone So If You Listen To A Song It Is Off Or If You Record A memo It Turns On Automatically

Theoretically, yes. However, audio files can become very large, so you will have to have a large amount of available space, and there may be file size limits. In addition, you would be much better off using a standalone microphone as the miniaturized microphone in the headphones may not be able to clearly pick up lectures because of its size. If you do decide to use them, you will of course need a compatible iPod/iPhone.

I buy these for my 16gb 3g iPhone, and the remote works for pause/play/back/forward, but not for volume. The mic works, too. Everything but the volume control.

I have the 13-inch Macbook (not pro) but the version that is aluminum etc. I got the earphones today because I broke my other ones, and was surprised to see they worked with my computer.
So far, I have used the volume +/- function, play/pause, and track forward and backward.They all work. I haven't figured out how to use the mic but you might be able to!- Answered by CB from Lawrence
