Does the new 13" Macbook Pro (announced October 22nd, 2012) with Retina Display have a CD drive installed?
If not, is there an accessory compatible with the notebook that runs CD drives? Also, if not, which Apple notebooks DO have built in CD drives?

The new 13" MacBook Pro with Retina does not have a CD/DVD "Superdrive" installed. They do offer a USB Superdrive under accessories for Mac (sorry, I can't put a link in here). The MacBook Pro laptops in 13" and 15" WITHOUT Retina display still have Superdrives built-in.

Could I add a CD drive onto the MacBook Pro with Rentina Display?
I want to purchase the MacBook Pro with Retina display. However I want to download some CDs. I mean its not a super necessary thing. So if its not possible it won't discourage me from still buying one. I was just wondering if that is a possibility. Thank you.

Would autocad work with a 13 inch MacBook Pro with retina display better than a 13 inch MacBook Pro without retina display?
- Asked by Brian K from Waukesha

Answer
As of right now, the current Mac release (AutoCAD 2013) does NOT natively support HiDPI displays. So as far as image quality, unless a program is specifically written to support HiDPI screens, it won't, and in terms of graphical appearance will look the same on a Retina display as it would on a standard display panel, which appears fuzzy in most cases since your eyes are accustomed to the rest of the screen appearing crystal clear.
If by better you mean performance-wise, that entirely dependent upon your Mac's configuration. Any modern Mac should be able to handle AutoCAD sufficiently, but some would work better than others. i7 > i5, 16GB RAM > 8GB RAM, SSD > HDD, etc. On most macs I've worked with, the hard drive is almost always the sole bottleneck of performance. So in that case, the rMBP would undoubtedly outperform the regular one, assuming you leave it at its stock hard drive, RAM, and CPU configuration.- Answered by Corey P from Oregon

These speakers work beautifully with the MacBook Pro. I am a recently retired teacher, and I used those speakers in the classroom for educational dvds, and to show movies right before the Christmas holiday. It really provided theater-quality sound, and the kids loved it!
