AnswerThese speakers work beautifully with the MacBook Pro. I am a recently retired teacher, and I used those speakers in the classroom for educational dvds, and to show movies right before the Christmas holiday. It really provided theater-quality sound, and the kids loved it!

I'm considering the purchase of a MacBook Air to replace a 9 year old PC laptop. Do people just purchase the SuperDrive?

Also by default iLife, which consists of iPhoto, iMovie, and GarageBand. This suite helps give your creativity a boost with your new mac. iPhoto is your photo editing software, iMovie for literally editing video, and GarageBand for making music. Of course you get iTunes, Mail, Address Book, iCal (Calendar). Did I mention you don't need any anti-virus software? Apple has already thought about you and has built-in security. Backing up your computer is easy and automatic. Time Machine is installed on your computer and you simply switch it on, define a hard drive for backing up and it will do the rest. You will never have to worry about backing up again!

AnswerThe keyboard does not have to be switched off. In fact, there is no facility to switch it off. It will switch itself off after a period of inactivity.
