what cable does the iMac need to connect to a krk rocket monitor
I have a KRK Rocket 8 160 watt monitor and was hoping to be able to hookup to my iMac for playback of garage band tunes. Is there such a cable? An XLR or 1/4 inch to a USB or other port?

The KRK web site states the Rokit 8 has three types of connections: XLR, RCA phono, and 1/4" (6.3mm) TRS. All Macs have a standard 1/8" (3.5mm) TRS headphone jack (also known as a stereo minijack).
You should be able to find 1/8" stereo TRS to dual RCA phono cables at almost any electronics or music store (also sold here at the Apple Store). Other combinations would work equally well (eg 1/8" stereo TRS to dual 1/4" TRS), but these types of cables may be slightly harder to source.
