I would not recommend trying to run this game on Lion, as I have had MULTIPLE issues playing the game after upgrading my OS. I've had to downgrade back to Snow Leopard for the game to behave, otherwise I would get countless Disc Authenication Failure messages throughout the day. I would also get a message saying,
"Exception raised
Unhandled page fault on write access to 0x0000001c at address 0x101eb149.
Do you wish to debug it?

Regardless of which answer I clicked, the game would immediately shut down. I lost of unsaved playtime from that message, and EA Games' only advice about that error message was to reinstall everything. Even after reinstalling, I'd still get that message.
I WOULD NOT try playing Sims 3 on Lion at all. EA Games obviously has not made a patch for the new OS yet, even after it's been out for six months. It really is a pain, but I would stay with Leopard or Snow Leopard if you want to save yourself a lot of frustration. I know I wish I had.- Answered by Sara K from Louisville
