Kensington Windscreen Car Mount with Sound Amplified Cradle for iPhone
simple technology augments the iphone
Written by RO from ashbourne

Got one of these not expecting it to work but actually it "does exactly what it says on the tin". Fantastic how something so simple works so effectively.
Mounting fits very snugly on windscreen and shows no sign of coming off.
The arm attachment arm is the longest I've seen so you can easily get your iphone into a good orientation and around mirrors etc
The arm also is quite stiff allowing you to press the phone screen without having to hold the unit (vital for one handed operation).
The phone fits snugly into the catch. The "grabbers" will hold an iphone or an iphone in standard rubber skin, but won't hold a phone with any attachment on the back.
Once you place the phone on the two rubber mats, the sound instantly amplifies and is certainly twice as loud (additional rubberadapters are provided in the box).
Sound quality is a little "tinny" but this is inherent in the simple technology being usedand you'll only notice it if you are a music connoisseur and play music using the built in speakers.
Downsides? few really would be nice if I didn't have to take my phone out of my waist holste, but I'm lazy. Other than that...Simple, very effective....Perfect …More141 of 144 people found this useful

Kensington Windscreen Car Mount with Sound Amplified Cradle for iPhone
Nice Design

I like the ease of removal and insertion of the iPhone to cradle.
The cradle really does increase the volume of the iPhone which is great if you do not like wearing those Borg like bluetooth ear pieces.
Inside the pack you get fittings to allow you to insert your iPhone in a case into the holder.
It also rotates on the stem. You do not need any batteries for this due to the clever design which is great for your pocket.
Call quality from people I have called on this has been great both speaking and listening.
Great value for money. …More115 of 116 people found this useful

Yes, it is large enough for a car charger. It doesn't stay put in the holder, so you have to connect it each time. …More

can i use this with a hands free kit or does this do that job anyway? i was going to get a case for the phone 3GS. will it fit in the stand?
- Asked by BB from Sunderland

Best Answer
You could use a hands free kit if you would like but you might find it a bit redundant. This product has a built in acoustic chamber that amplifies all the sound coming out of the speaker at the bottom. There's also a hole that allows microphone input. Turn by Turn directions from a GPS app, phone calls and podcasts etc. will all be amplified to a level that's quite good for in the car use.
If you choose to use a hands free kit, the product still acts a very good cradle/support for the iPhone.
The cradle will hold an iPhone 3GS with a case as long as it's a thin, form-fitting case. Bulky leather cases or anything with heavy textures or patterns won't necessarily work. …More- Answered by JS from vancouver

How do you mount it to the air vents in your car? There doesn't seem to be the correct components to do this and no installation manual?

A separate component comes packaged with the product, it's pretty much common sense how it works, took me about 3 minutes to figure it out. It fits fine and rotates freely as needed. …More
