Overview
The compact Bose® Computer MusicMonitor® delivers full, rich sound quality without taking up too much space on your desktop. Good things really do come in small packages.
Full-range sound
This two-piece desktop speaker system may be petite, but don't be fooled, it features the latest in switching amplifier technology combined with new, proprietary acoustic design, and Bose® digital signal processing to deliver accurate, full-range sound.
High output
The thin, powerful neodymium transducers have ten times the magnetic energy density of conventional speakers, so they're small in size, but high in output. Enjoy superior audio as the active electronic equalisation balances low, mid and high frequencies for more natural tone and clarity.
Elegant and easy to use
Smaller, lighter and 50% more efficient than many traditional linear amplifiers, the system is unobtrusive and elegant, with a solid aluminium casing to complement your notebook or desktop computer.
The handy remote keeps on/off and volume control at your fingertips and set up is simple; just plug in and press play.

The best compromise of size versus sound.
It's a bit difficult to be completely unbiased when you have just blown this much money on anything, but for me these speakers des erve high praise.
They really are beautiful pieces of kit, from the subtle angle to the solid build quality and side-firing bass slots, they ooze quality. They feel like bricks of aluminium which is reassuring when you crank up the volume - they won't be reverberating or jumping across your desk, thats for sure.
I was amazed by the incredible amount of bass produced from such a small size, it is like there is a bass box hidden somewhere in the room. Some might say that there isn't enough - personally I feel that Bose have achieved their aim to reproduce content as accurately as possible. There isn't huge "try hard" rumblings that you can get with many larger systems - but instead, a well balanced sound. This is true from quiet levels up to its maximum volume where the speaker seems to automatically limit the volume to ensure there is no "clipping" of sound. This means you will get the maximum volume the speaker is capable of producing at its highest quality and distortion free.
I've got them in an office and they are easily powerful enough for general listening and to crank up for my favourite tunes. They could easily fill a room with sound at a general listening level but they ARE compact speakers, so expecting them to replicate a home cinema is unrealistic.
The only negative I have is the power-brick that doesn't complement their compact size when you are packing them in your bag, especially after all their hard work to get these speakers so small!
As a rule, sound quality goes down with size (or is backed up by a separate subwoofer), Bose broke the rule with these beauties with rich, realistic, well balanced sound in a tiny package. They look awesome too. Well worth the money if you want the best! …- Written by Jonathan K from LEICESTER

Good for your office but not for your home
These are very well made/built - NO doubt about that... but I would expect wireless technology with this price tag. that's a separ ate issue.
These speakers are certainly not for a Living Room (large room) where you would want to have some vibrating sound. These are low volume good quality (NOT EXCELLENT) neat speakers for your study room / office.
Also, it seems that the bass just flats out on higher volume and speakers produce ugly sound until you lower the volume..... seems the speakers are just not built for even little higher volume. but if you are listening music of low to mid volume in your study room (a small room) they'll be OK. …- Written by Wajid F from Gravesend

Can I use the Bose computer monitor speakers with a television as well as my MacBook Pro
- Asked by Keith A
- 04-Jun-2011
Best Answer
Yes, but it depends on what television [device] you have or get.
1st/ the Bose speakers use a ste reo 3.5mm mini-jack so unless your TV monitor has a mini-jack you'll need some sort of adaptor. Most TV's have RCA connectors for audio and you should be able to find either online or a specialist electronic goods store that stock an adaptor that has two [male] RCA connectors [usually one red, one black] cabled to a stereo 3.5 mini jack socket [female].
2nd/ You'll find most "Televisions" ie combined screen [monitor] & tuners [the bit that receives and decodes the broadcasted TV signal] have speakers built in to them so there's not going to be a huge benefit to running your Bose monitors with this kind of TV except a possible increase in sound quality if the TV speakers are really rubbish.
3rd/ Some older TV's don't have any audio output connectors to connect your external speakers to.
Tip: It's best to NOT use the headphone socket to run your Bose units because the power output is much greater than the level that the Bose are designed for and you'll usually you'll get a more distorted sound even if you turn down the headphone socket's level. …- Answered by Ken F from Tamarama
