If you have just bought a new mac that has the intel core duo, this game is for you. The first thing that impressed about this game, was the speed. I didn't have long to wait for the next level to load. The whole layout of the game is 100 times better to 'call of duty' I found the options section for changing the controls so much easier, and of course the graphics of the game are excellent. I played this game on my macbook pro 15.4' and had no problems at all, easy to install. I highly recommend this game. More

Dying has never been so much fun!

The original MoH was a case of following the narrow course through the streets and hedgerows of France, fighting alone against one Nazi at a time, each of whom had the intelligence of a small peanut, if that.

In this game, I fought aloneside members of the US 2nd Ranger Battalion to take a small French village and then hold it against an enemy counter-attack. No preset courses, no predictable enemies, no rules; just the chaos of war and my trusty Thompson.

This game is frighteningly realistic; graphically, audially and historically. The box art depicts the taking of Pointe du Hoc on D-Day. I've been to Pointe du Hoc, and the game is as faithful a representation of reality as you are ever going to find. The enemy counter-attacks too are not just one or two guys, but dozens of them! So many that you'll find yourself just spraying shots in the vain hope that you might hit one of them. Chances are that you will, too!

A lot of previews thought that the health system (based on Halo's recharging shields) would make the game seem unrealistic, but I can assure you that that is not the case. You will still find yourself dying if you do something stupid and it removes the idiotic concept of going back through most of the map looking for health kits. The only way, from now on, is forwards! Unless, that is, you are forced to retreat from a numerically superior enemy...

Also taken from Halo is the grenade throwing system. Some gamers generally stay away from frags because they have to change to them, throw them then change back to a gun. CoD2 uses a single key that will launch a grenade and bring your gun back up within seconds. Unfortunately, this does remove the ability to 'cook' grenades, but it does maintain the fast pace of the game.

This game is about as close to real war as I have any intention of getting.

I bought this when I got a new iMac 24-inch: 3.06GHz with the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS with 512MB.
It is jerky as anything, rendering it JUST playable, but not enjoyable by any standards. Altering the settings and downloading the patch make no difference. I've been on a few forums and others have the same problem but it seems only on the newest Macs. Shame as it looks quite good. More

My most recent purchase and i do not regret it. I am not what you would call a "gamer" and only own two games. This one is superb and The descriptions above are accurate. It works without any problems on a macbook pro leopard.
I just managed to complete the easy mode and the one above that and I 'll be challenged to carry any further I think. The realism as far as WW2 warfare is concerned is frightening.
    Well done!
