Just okay

I've been using the headset since the launch day of iPhone in the UK, on my daily commute to and from work (1.5 hours each way) and these earphones do the job and nothing more. I listen mostly to podcasts, videos and a little music.
On the plus side, they are lightweight, the microphone is surprisingly good, is fairly durable, and functions quite well. It is very convenient to click the switch to answer calls, skip to the next track, etc.
On the minus side, the sound is only adequate at best, and they are white! I also bought some foam earbuds to prevent them falling out. I don't know why Apple didn't supply any as standard.
If my current set stopped working, I would probably buy another pair, but only because there is nothing else out there available. The V-MODAs have had mixed reviews, have lengthy wires, and a 'heavy' microphone switch unit. The new Etymotic hf2 headset have only just been released, but the mic switch unit looks bulky on that too.
If Apple released a more premium headset out with better sound, and in black, then they would have a winner. …More228 of 332 people found this useful

Not Great

Nothing will ever beat the immortal sex appeal and look of the apple headphones, but there is one flaw with these ones, the small grey bit that goes in your ear, is held together using what can only be some of the cheapest glue ever. i've had my iPhone for 4 days now and the right ear bud has fallen apart. this isn't great. …More

Written by PW from Chelmsford

I just got my iPhone and I didn't know how good these would be because some people from the US said that they didn't really work properly. But they aren't actually that bad, I was very impressed with the sound quality and they are overall very good. I recommend getting some of these if you have lost yours or want a spare set. :-) …More

and do the world a favour by buying something else - you're annoying everyone on the train/tube/bus! Really, these things do more damage to the reputation of music players and the people that use them on public transport than anything else i can think of. …More
