Looks good but doesn't work

I began to worry when it was showing the indoor CO2 levels in my home/office at 5000ppm. Tried it elsewhere in the house and it was showing very high readings and sent me into paranoid mode. Googling articles on high CO2 levels and blaming the house for every headache I've ever had.
In the end I spent £300 on a professional CO2 measuring device and discovered that my office levels are actually around 700ppm as is the rest of the house which is what I should expect living in the countryside.
Bottom line is I wasted £140 on the weather station and another £300 for piece of mind !!! …

Do NOT buy the NetaAtmo weather station

It does not measure outdoor air quality, only temperatures and humidity, the rest it gathers from from the web, IF there is a nearby weatger report, which in my case there isn't.
Secondly, 4 months out of warranty it has stopped, or rather only intemittently records any measurements at all. The Helpdesk has tried to help and given lots of excuses about routers and IP addresses, but can't fix the problem and have refused to replace it. All it now does is to tell me what the weather was yesterday !!! I have fixed IP addresses, opened ports, etc etc. per Heldesk instructions but nothing works.
It works (or rather, doesn't) by the base station recording data every 5 minutes or so. It the stores the data locally and uploads the data to the Netatmo cloud every 15 minutes or so. If it can't connect, it saves the data until it can connect with the router and cloud. The App simply then views the cloud data. 1 star because I wasn't able to give it zero. …

The indications of storms and increase in CO2 are surprisingly accurate. I compared the CO2 measurement to a professionel device from a friend and the readings were almost identical.
Only minor perhaps is that the information regarding air quality for the outside module comes from a website. How accurate these readings are is not entirely certain. But the temperature and moist readings are definitely correct.
All in all, I am very pleased with this product and the fact I can monitor it from any device. …
