The manual is well written and the product is both well conceived and excellently executed.
I would bundle this keyboard with every new iPad if this were possible.
In my opinion it has no major drawbacks. …

It came ready charged so I just had to pair the device over bluetooth and I was ready to go in under a minute. It doubles as a very stylish iPad cover that clips onto the device in the same way as the Apple Smart Cover, simply unclip and stand your iPad in the notch and start typing.
The keyboard contains a number of shortcuts for selecting, cutting, copying and pasting, as well as volume control.
Possibly the best iPad accessory on the market.
Also available in white. …

Not for iPad Air!

Bought the same f I had one of these for a regular iPad with retina display, and it worked amazingly well (until both got stolen). Bought the same for the new iPad Air, and although it works well as a keyboard, it doesn't actually close as a cover, but leaves a large gap of about half a cm, and the small bar above the keyboard marks the screen. I returned the item and got a new one - same problem. If you look at the images provided you can see this must be a design flaw: the side view (image 3) closes for the iPad, but you can see a gap if you click on the same image for the iPad Air. Returning this one, and will wait for proper alternative or re-design. Such a shame as I really liked it for the iPad. …

I use my iPad as a ultra portable computer with the keyboard, no Apps, no silly games etc. Easy to type, easy to set up, easily transportable and easily protected by closing, its even thinner than the iPad. The battery seems to last forever, I can only think I've charged it twice since its purchase. The keyboard base silver outer scratches easily when pushed about on a desktop, but on the other hand it acts like a hard shell cover when closed. Well worth the money. I'd score it six stars if its charging plug was the same as the Apple one, then again Apple would make it, and it would cost a three times as much! …

Fantastic but flawed

The other day the iPad just fell off. After several reoccurrences it appears there are two (retrofit?) plastic self-adhesive strips in the slot channel of the keyboard. In the recent hot weather the glue has gone soft and the strips move, no longer keeping the angled iPad firmly fixed. Am making an appointment at the Genius Bar for advice! In use the keyboard is fantastic as I mainly use the iPad for emails and typing generally using pages, but don't want to damage my £500 iPad! Would benefit from a backlit keyboard but battery life would be compromised otherwise battery life is awesome. No illumination when CapsLock is on is also frustrating. …

However It will work with this keyboard but not ideal because the iPad air 2 is thinner (as noted by one of the answers below) the slot it fits into is made for the thicker IPad Air and therefore the IPad Air 2 sits at a steeper angle. So to summarize this will work but not ideal and the expectation is Logitech will release a new keyboard …
