great suite for Mac & Windows !!
Intego's VirusBarrier X6 is the best anti-virus software I've used on any system. I've had problems with anti-virus programs slowi ng down my PC or conflicting with Windows security features. So I wanted to make sure that wouldn't happen to my new MacBook, running Snow Leopard. I'm pleased to say it has not affected my MacBook's performance at all. VirusBarrier is simple to install and use and now I feel much better knowing not only is my personal information on my MacBook safe, but I won't be passing virus' to other family members who still have Windows based PCs.
The other products in the suite are also interesting such as the antispam and the backup tool, which is more useful than Time Machine.

Killed my mac
Had to desinstall this software because it would freeze my mac. Never had this kind of problem with windows antivirus...... best a voided !! …

Not Good
Some of the programs keep quitting and delivering error messages, the washing machine program is supplied on the disk but there is no security key for it. File Guard wont run at all. I have tried numerous reinstalls with no success. If you are a home user don’t bother. I had to buy something to protect sensitive files but this is not good enough for the job. A poor piece of software and over priced for what it is, shop around!!!!! …

Nice piece of software - no impact on performance
I used to use Norton anti-virus on my Macbook Air but it caused it to run soooo much more slowly I ended up uninstalling it.

I would recommend you install a free antivirus software program. If you are a careful web surfer a nd don't download junk software from random websites you don't know and then update your mac frequently, you shouldn't have to worry about getting any virus'. but if you want to be in a carefree environment and not have to worry about getting malware or virus' then you could install a free antivirus software like, iAntivirus, or clamxav are good ones I would recommend. …
