    Does exactly what it says

A little bit confused by some previous reviews that mention attaching a camera or it does not work with a particular camera. This device is surely only for use with an SD CARD. I have found it to be a great addition to my ipad. Agree that it is not cheap but had it for a present. A definite recommend for an easy way to transfer photos to your ipad.

£25 plus the cost of a Powered USB Hub to make it work

It's a common problem with this accessory. Plug it in, attach camera, iPad states " Cannot support the device as it uses too much power" (I paraphrase). So you need to spend at least £10 on a powered USB hub to interface between the iPad and camera. It would have been good if the Apple guy in store had come clean on this. Can I have a £10 refund ? Why do you tarnish your reputation ? Samsung are getting ahead of you !!!

Just bought this at the airport before going on holiday and it doesn't work with my Sony camera or Panasonic camcorder. Great!

    Doesn't work for me.

I have the ipad with the plug in sd reader device, my wife has the ipad mini with lightning sd card reader. I have made a file of wedding photos, taken by various people at my son's recent wedding, and transferred them onto a sd card but neither tablet recognises the card. Any reason why this is happening? This is the reason we bought the readers. All photos are jpeg, no videos. The publicity material suggest plug and play - not for me it isn't!

    Works for me - NEX-F3

I have a Sony NEX-F3 and it works fine with my iPad mini. I place the SD card in the reader, attach to the iPad and the Camera Roll pops up asking to import the photos. You can then import them into the camera roll which can then be accessed in iPhoto or synced to a computer.

It would be nice if you could browse the photos on the card in fullscreen prior to importing, but just like in iPhoto on the Mac you can't, for some strange reason.

Will be handy on holidays when I don't have my Mac so I can save some storage on the SD card by importing to the iPad.

Still trying to upload or view a few photo via the SD adapter, I think it was a waste of £25, Apple is either love or hate and I know where I stand after 2 months

Does not work with the Nikon D600

Cannot read photos shot with my DSLR. Doesn't seem to handle common raw + fine jpeg file formats and displays error warnings every time the adapter is connected to my iPad mini.

Does exactly what the name suggests.

Although some people complain that you can't transfer other things like music or games over this peripheral, that's the nature of Apple. What you can do though is exactly what the name suggests and what the thing was made for.

Whilst out and about I can easily take pictures using my SLR and then put my SD card into the Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader and pop that into the lightening port. This then allows me to transfer my pictures straight to the iPad and into it's camera roll without needing a computer.

Although it may be a bit pricey, the iPhone 5 doesn't support it and it's only limited to transferring pictures, it does exactly what I need and is very simple to use whilst also being compact.
