    Appalling quality

    • Written by from Swanbourne

Having had every i phone since they came out I am used to the Chargers and leads. Until this year I had never broken a lead or had one stop working so what has changed? This year between my daughter and I we have had 8 leads that have either come apart or simply stopped working with no visible sign of damage. I'm relieved to see so many other people reporting the same as was starting to worry it was me. Add to this the fact I hate the I phone 6 (if I wanted a huge flat ugly monster of a phone I would buy a rubbish samsung or Nokia!) and the latest changes to predictive text are ridiculous I am officially unhappy .....

    Works fine for me

    • Written by from ABINGDON

I had a chinchilla related incident with my original cable and so purchased a new apple one. Works fine. Plug it in, my devices charge. Admittedly I have a charger at home and a charger at work and so the cable doesn't go on any adventures so maybe that is why the cable wires don't fray or whatever like the other people's. I would rather get a verified apple charger then a impostor one just in case something goes wrong. £15 is a lot cheaper than £499.

    What do I do now?

    • Written by from London

Thanks to all these reviews; its not just us!! We have various devices: iPods, iPads and iPhones and we are down to only one charger that works now. Where do we go from here?

    iPhone charger

114 months & 4 chargers!!! I am So sick of the iPhone 5 chargers breaking, if the end gets slightly bent or twisted they stop working!!
I can't afford to keep paying £15 per time for a new one! Love my phone.. But Apple please sort out your chargers..!!!!
Never had this problem with my 4!!! Very disappointed :(

    Great!

    • Written by from Carshalton

I must be doing something different with my cable because it works perfectly and I have had no problems with it - and that's with daily use for 2 years! Although £15 is a little steep for a mere cable, it does the job perfectly and I couldn't ask for more!

    Poor Quality!

    • Written by from Port Talbot

I've lost count of how many chargers I've purchased for the ipad and iPhone?! Really fed up of having to replace constantly. Can anyone recommend one from another supplier perhaps that does not break so easily? I also use blackberry phones, and the current charger is over 2 years old, and have had no problems with it!

    Terrible

    • Written by from Haydock

This product is not worth 15 pounds, to me they are worth 60p, they are massively over priced. I had my brand new charger for 2 weeks and it broke, only working when it's fiddled around with and then completely breaks. They are flimsy and not sturdy. They need to be updated or something because no one can afford over 15 pounds a month. Please fix this apple

Most unreliable price of electronics seen to date, already on my 3rd, not worth 5p or one star.

    Garbage

    • Written by from Stafford

What utter tat this product is. Have Apple purposely built in a failure to them or something? I've never EVER had a problem with the leads for my previous touch or either nano iPods i've owned but this is something else. Rank tripe.

    Really Apple!

    • Written by from Jessup

With four of us using I phones it seems like I’m buying a couple charging cables a month. While the Apple plug lasts longer than the cheap rip-off brands they still don’t last. You’ve had three years to make a more durable plug but haven’t. I’m sure for a few dollars more you could build a charging cable that will outlast the phone.

When we went to pick up my wife’s new iPhone 6 at the first glance of the cord I realized there was no effort to improve it. I was planning to upgrade to the iPhone 6 plus but couldn’t. I miss my iPhone but I’ve upgraded to an Android phone until Apple makes a better charging cord.

The worst electronic item ever - Lightning to USB Cable (1m)

    • Written by from Halifax

The Lightning cable is a joke, it breaks so easily and is very expensive to replace with an official apple product, SHOCKING!

    Absolutely Disgraceful

    • Written by from Middlesbrough

As the title says, this cable is an absolutely disgraceful piece of plastic. It's flimsy, overpriced and useless. Apple is shamelessly extorting its loyal customers by charging them £15 a piece for a cable that lasts for a couple of months at best. I paid upwards of £500 for the iPhone 5 last summer and since then I've replaced this garbage charger 5 times.

This was the first, and will most definitely be the last Apple product I will ever buy.

    Doesn't even deserve one star.

    • Written by from Totnes

I can't believe Apple hasn't made their chargers better quality. Mine has broken after only a few months of use. I knew they had a reputation for being bad quality so I made a point of taking extra good care of it, but it's still broken. There are no physical signs of wear and tear, it has literally just stopped working.

    So far so good

    • Written by from Burton-on-Trent

My wife has 2 iThings using the lightning to USB leads for data/charging. So far no problems after 1-2 years. For the last 3 months her phone is charged using the Apple charging base which may be helping, but the iPad is always charged (not especially protected in the kitchen) using the bare lead. Note that the plug is pulled out at the plug, not by pulling on the lead.

    APPALLING

    • Written by from London

When is ANYONE going to SIT UP AND TAKE NOTICE of all the apalling reviews relating to the poor performance of the iPhone USB Cable? I have bought 8 cables over the past year and four have failed in the last two months and I now have two left and find myself back on this website ordering new ones. This really is an UNACCEPABLE situation yet the situation maintains.

On my forth charger as of today

    • Written by from Retford

I've had my iPhone 5c since March and I'm already on my forth charger. It is getting ridiculous now. I've bought official apple ones the whole time, thinking that they will be better quality but they most certainly are not.
THIS IS MAKING ME WANT TO GO BACK TO SAMSUNG.

These cables are so expensive and barely last long enough for you to forget about the annoyance at having to buy the previous one.

    Poor Quality Cable

    • Written by from Westhill

Lost count how many replacement cables I have had to buy for the family. The lightning end of the connection doesn't take kindly to any sideways angulation as this seems to dislodge the wiring and the cable becomes useless. Im not talking carelessness here, just normal use. The cables are not worth £15-£25.

    What a crock...

    • Written by from Southsea

Overpriced and completely rubbish. I've gone through half a dozen in 2 years. Official leads are way too fragile (at £15 a pop). iPhone's don't like Unofficial leads (a tenth of the price!). Come on Apple, sort this out. We pay hundreds of £'s for iPhones and you give us shoddy charging cables. It's completely unacceptable. No wonder you're losing market share. I selected 1 star as there's no option to mark the leads as zero stars.
