As long as your computer uses serial ATA connection it will work fine, it is only how the data is stored, i.e. on a chip rather than a spinning disk. It will also lower power consumption and heat generation. My MacBook Pro lasts around 45 mins longer on battery power since installing SSD.

Best AnswerAll SSD you see on the market are MLC, SLC would cost 4 times the amount... and SLC's don't go as high has 512 GB yet. The only negative about MLC is that they only last 10 years.
