Does anyone know how loud the card is in comparison to a Radeon HD 2600?

    They should be around the same level of noise, I have two 5770's in my PC and they are far from loud. BTW this card is about 2 to 3 times faster.

  • While I don't have a Radeon HD 2600, I do have a GeForce 8800. The Radeon HD 5770 is much quieter, to a point where I don't hear it, even when using it heavily (Starcraft 2 for example)

  • The ATI Radeon 5770 is noticeably quieter. The 2600 wasn't too terribly noisy, IMHO, it was just that while playing games the fan was forever speeding up, then slowing down, then speeding up, rinse, repeat, etc. If you were in a quiet room and were trying to get into the game, that got real old real fast. The 5770 I installed doesn't have this problem so far, and based on reviews of the card I have seen online, it should be much quieter than the 2600 even under load.
