Overview

Great idea. Couple of drawbacks

Looked like a good idea when i bought it for my apple 24" cinema display. Took the risk of purchasing two!! Easy to set up.
One drawback is that it sticks out the back and does not allow you to put your screen flush against the wall. It is about 4" deep and unless you stick it high up on your stand, you could lose up to 3.0 to 3.5".
The second drawback is, if like me you decide to put a USB hub on it, the USB connectors stick out the sides and you can not fit the hub flush on the stand. That said, my IXOS 7 hub sits (at a tilt) on one shelf and five of my 10GB mini-porable hard drives on the other. The IXOS hub trails a connector to my Belkin-7hub and with the exception of this cord, there are no other cords in sight. All the rest are gathered up behind the screen.

A bit fiddly to get the shelf hooks connected to the shelf. Then its very easy to attach to the shelf to the back of your IMac or Apple Display.
All fitting instructions are included and very easy to follow.

Jeez - I find it amusing that people i.e. first reviewer on here can't read/follow instructions. There's literally 4 easy steps with CLEAR diagrams as to how you should put it on.
Furthermore, Twelvesouth provide various different brackets to ensure that the RIGHT bracket is APPROPRIATE for 'YOUR' iMac.
Now that i've got that out of the way - this is a really neat product. I love the whole concept of it as it goes very nicely with the whole 'clutter-free' desktop - similar to the iMac. I've got two external hard drives on it and sometimes put my Macbook Pro (with the BookArc on, also made by TwelveSouth) and works an absolute treat. It can sure handle A LOT of weight.
Again, the purpose of the device is to hide all the mess behind the iMac... where otherwise it would have been on your desk taking up space and not to mention the 100 odd cables that goes with them.
p.s. TwelveSouth also provide a small cable in the package to tie all your cables together. Their packaging of the BackPack is VERY sweet. …More5 of 5 people found this useful
