Product Information

  • The 45-Watt MagSafe Power Adapter for MacBook Air features a magnetic DC connector that ensures your power cable will disconnect if it experiences undue strain, and helps prevent fraying or weakening of the cables over time. In addition, the magnetic DC helps guide the plug into the system for a quick and secure connection.

When the connection is secure, an LED located at the head of the DC connector will light up; an amber light lets you know that your portable is charging, while a green light tells you that you have a full charge. An AC lead is provided with the adapter for maximum lead length, while the AC wall adapter (also provided) gives users an even easier and more compact way to travel.

Redesigned specifically for MacBook Air, the adapter is the perfect travelling companion. It has a clever design that allows the DC cable to be wound neatly around itself for easy cable storage.

This power adapter recharges the lithium polymer battery while the system is off, on, or in sleep mode. It also powers the system if you choose to operate without a battery.

Compatible only with MacBook Air with MagSafe Power Port.

It's act Unsurprisingly, the 45W version is just as reliable as the others. Flimsy would be a generous adjective for this charger. It's actually quite dangerous how easily this breaks and had I been a bit less careless, I could've had a nasty shock. I will not be giving Apple the satisfaction of getting an extortionate replacement from them when there are far cheaper alternatives.

It is only a matter of time before the thin cable and sleeving starts to split and the wire gets exposed and shorts leaving you with a dead unit. You have to wonder, is this designed in obsolescence? With replace power supplies costing £65 each and with so many reviews of how poor quality the product I think people will be able to draw their own conclusions. Unfortunately we are all captive consumers as there is no real quality alternative, we just have to stump up £65 each time our power supplies fail. You could perhaps forgive Apple if it was an interim issue, but this type of power supply has been in production for a long time now....come on Apple, please step up and address this issue.
