Just what I wanted
Saw the stand on display in Covent Garden and knew it was exactly what I needed. My main monitor is 30" but I like to keep my cha t clients on the Macbook screen out of the way. Putting the Macbook on the desk next to large screen meant I had to keep looking down to see the screen. With this stand I can raise the Macbook up and position in right up against the edge of my monitor closer to being horizontally central. The base of the stand serves as a useful place to leave my iPhone charging hidden away under the Macbook. There is quite a bit of room underneath as the arms don't slant down too much like on other stands. It really makes everything look way neater and I can switch my focus between screens more quickly. …

Excellent build quality & looks
I picked up one of these in the Regent Street store for use at work with my Air and I'm pleased with it. The rubber non slip arms hold the laptop in place and the adjustable height is good, although a bit more height adjustment would have been better. If you're very tall, this might be an issue as it's just about okay for me at normal desk height and I'm 5ft 10".
Design wise, it looks great, however, as per usual, it's being obscured by a mass of cables...! …- Written by Nadeem B from GREENHITHE

Quality Uplift
To some this may seem like a very expensive riser stand. If like me you like to sit at a desk and use a larger monitor this stand is a real bonus. Sure, there are other models out there but Twelve South offer great Apple only peripherals of high build quality and good design. As this is adjustable you can match the screen heights between whatever MacBook you use with your monitor. You can also use is alone with a mouse and keyboard and use you MacBook as the single display adjusted to a height more in keeping with a monitor as opposed to the MacBook lying flat on the surface.
As it is matte silver in appearance is matches MacBooks external appearance well.
If you want a quality product for your already expensive Apple hardware to sit on then this is surely the only one that you need. If you are a bit frugal you may want to stick to a cheaper plastic option that will obviously do the job but not be as high quality as this. …- Written by Colin M from Uddingston

If I could give this no stars I would
Do not buy... well, do buy if you want a stand that your laptop will just slide off.
Can't believe Apple stock this piece of a expensive junk.
The facts it's expensive. It looks like your Apple laptop i.e. it's made of the same looking metal (nice). Down side is that it looks great but performs terribly. You put you laptop on it and with the slightest (and I mean slightest) knock it well send you laptop hurtling to the floor or at least to your desk top. Why? because it has a smooth plastic edge as apposed to a rubber outer ring, it uses cheap plastic that offers no traction at all.
Avoid like the plague... Shame on you Apple for stocking such rubbish. …- Written by Simon H from Privett

Disappointed
My High Rise stand arrived today, and it is very well made, and looks great.
Sadly though it does not hold either my MacBook Ai r or MacBook Pro steady or securely enough. Both machines just rest on the support arms, but move about both front to back and side to side when touched, even lightly. This gives the impression that it is going to fall off.
This may not be a problem if you intend to never touch the machine once it is one the stand, but if like me you will have to still use the keys from time to time this may not be the one for you.
Sadly had to return the stand. …- Written by Stuart M from Cheddar

Answer
It depends on your comfort level. Personally I think it's just fine, but I use it for DJing. So I ha ve a pair of turntables underneath mine, and I am comfortable with having my arms raised for it. Someone just using it for home use may find some issue with it. …
