    Nothing but hassle

If apple is going to pretend that their products work straight out of the box, they might want to take another look at this one. It is slow, doesn't work properly, and wouldn't be worth half of what it costs even if it did. Typical apple: overpriced, underperforming and incompatible.

    Requires Quicktime 7 to view

That is the message I got when I was trying to view the Ipod touch tour video. I was surprised by this because I had purchased the Quicktime 7 Pro edition. Even though I re-downloaded the free Quicktime as suggested I did not get this video to play. I have registered it, opened the downloaded player I have on my computer, yet it doesn't compute that yes, indeed, I do have this product.

I was not able to find any quick fixes on the apple website for this problem. I feel this has been a waste of money. I have been oggling this ipod touch for a while and I do believe I would have purchased one. However, I think I would like to purchase from a product line that is more user friendly.

I have no idea how many hours I will spend removing this garbage so I can play movies again. $30 bucks thrown away, and now I have to fix the problems they caused and charged me for. Sure hope I get it figured out before I have to deal with it with my customers that make the mistake of buying it. DO NOT FOR ANY REASON PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT!! You will regret it, and I am a computer tech, so I DO know what I'm working with. MY BAD!!

    Quick Time Sucks

no one to contact,no support, pages are always unavailable, contact us buttons are useless, page unavailable Lets start off by informing you that I have been using Windows Media Player for years, and have many playlists both audio, and video. Then I bought 3ipods,2-30GBs,and 1-nano, so I downloaded iTunes, and with it comes QUICK TIME,this is where the problems start, Quick Time took over all media files I can't even access Media Player now everything I try to open come up in Quick Time player from itunes, well this free player just doesn't have the quality,or the features that Windows Media Player has, in fact Quick Time is by far an inferior player that just doesn't suit my needs, I can't even find a way to temporarily disable QT player, so I can use WMP for files I've had for years,so now its this big game of installing then uninstalling. It's like some tyrant dictator has taken away all my choices, and forcing me to use an inferior product. WHAT CAN BE DONE TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM ??? Do I have to buy QT Pro, I don't think so, am having nothing but grief with the one I already have, as for the ipods well if this problem can not be solved into the garbage they go.
    Thank You

I have found this product extremely frustrating for its use in the PC plataform. It does not deliver what it promises. Maybe in the Mac is better. I have a iMac but I do not find QuickTime any better though.
It is unecessary to purchase such an expensive product to get so little for your money.

    New Can't Use Garbage

Buy me or look at me, but don't think we'll give you any opportunity to try me out. "For only $29.95, you will be able to . . ." So much hype, for what? Any option to try it out and find how unuseable this is for the average Joe? No way! That would hurt our sales!!
Now forever on the screen will be these unuseable (who cares, except for the appearance) lines of action that will only screw up the actual working of the system. Don't say no way 'cause you know it's the way, always: new programming, new errors, new headaches for the users.
Any choice for the users? Well there should be. But there's no way to use the old version 'cause there's no way to access it now that the "new version" is installed -- even though the new version is not installed as yet, merely sitting there waiting to be paid for by the chump. Marketing, marketing.
Oh, and by the way, I couldn't even give you 1/2 a star, 'cause it was one star or nothing, and even nothing wasn't accepted. So in this case you deserve negative five. Add (subtract)that to (from) your average. Gee, I doubt that that will end up being the case.

    Quicktime Pro What a rip-off

I purchased this product because i have videos that need to be rotate, however once you rotate the video,
it plays soo Bad that certain images dissapear completly from the screen.
i had to shrunk the video size in order to be able to view the clip.
also it promised soo much, however once you need to use the other features,( B A M ) you need to buy additional software to use those features.
so my advice is save your money & next time when recording, do it the right position.
    Sorry QuickTime Pro.

You have to know what you are doing! I saved an audio file from the internet "as a source" and I can't get it to my itunes library. I can't even get Quick time to play it. If you are there (KM from Calgary), have pity and help me - if that's possible.

Why did I buy this product?

With all the apple addicts talking about user interface design like they owned the concept and positioning Apple as the great combator against the evil Microsoft Empire, you'd think that Quicktime would be both open and intuitive.

I've used a lot of video editing, video rendering products over the past year but Quicktime Pro may be the worst - most restrictive/closed and non-intuitive interface ever!

Perhaps I'm not geeky enough - it is for the true H.264, .mov, .qt, 2 pass, architecture engineer. I just want to save a few .wmv, .rm, and .avi movie file as .mov files.

Fortunately, they've made it so slow compared to virtually every other product I've ever used, that I can get a lot of yardwork done while it "encodes" video. My wife is real happy with that.

I too hate being left no choice but to download software to fill up my harddrive and complicate an uncomplicated function. I don't want itunes but I went ahead and downloaded and installed it just to find that I cannot get quicktime to install. I've been using quicktime for going on 15 years if memory serves me right and now it seems you've joined the flanks and are twisting our arms to forcefeed us software we maynot want in order to get the program I thought I was so familliar with. It's a sad day but I guess inevitable, now I need too hunt up a program that will replace yours if I can find one before my harddrive is overfilled... I'm disapointed in you I was under the impression you were going to stick to values of the past....good luck

I bought QT Pro and am having playback problems. Unfortunately I'm apparently on my own as Apple seems to have no real support for this product. I read through all the material online but it didn't solve my problem. What a waste.

Download Windows Movie Maker instead - it's free and has significantly more functionality. I had a full edited movie with sound in minutes. Quicktime 7 Pro deserves zero stars is a huge disappointment and I really regret spending the $29.99. Apple should stick to music.

Would NOT have bought if I had been able to test the software before buying. Is NOT user friendly. Has been very time consumeing. Have used much easier software from other vendors. Just 1 more thing to add to the list of my dissatisfaction with apple products.

I recently purchased a new Pansonic DMC-FZ28 super-zoom Lumix camera whose software came bundled with basic Quiktime and which I up-dated to 7 Pro so I could capture still frames from the HD movies. What frustration. Following the.mov file capture sequence provided in the on-line manual, I attempted to save the frame(s)as a JPEG file but the program would always hangup when it came to the final step of choosing a compression type. It would then display an "encounterd error" message and close. No matter what I tried I have yet to be able to capture or display any movie frames using this program.

    Slow, Horrible, Waste of money!

Having just bought my new iPod, I was all excited about being able to play my pre-existing music videos. The sales told me that QuickTime Pro was needed to convert the format so I did what I was told and spent $40CAD on the program. Little did I know, it took 20 minutes just to convert 20% of a 3 minute-music-video. I ended just going on google to search for a freeware that does the conversion, and IT WORKS MUCH FASTER AND DOES NOT LAG MY COMPUTER!

Quicktime Pro was certainly not money well spent. For those new iPoders just like me, a word of advice: Do some research first before getting tricked into buying a program that does not work!
