Should I get an I Pad 2 for college? Why or why not?

    No. I prefer having a laptop. It will be harder to type on an ipad.

  • For college, I think a laptop would be easier to use, especially since you will be doing a lot of typing. If you get a laptop, make sure it comes with a word processing program and a spread sheet program. I don't know about Apple programs, but I'm sure they are very good. I have Microsoft Word, Excel (spread sheet) and Access (Data base - mail merge) for PC.

    If you like photography, take a separate, good camera with you. They are smaller and lighter now, and many can be carried in your pocket. Make sure that it has compatible software and hookup to the laptop that you choose. While the iPad cameras (front and back) are fun to use, I found the iPad is awkward to hold to use its cameras.

    I am hoping that, someday soon, we will be able to have a decent reference library and text book shop on line, so that we can carry all our books on the computer.
