    Great Mouse

We have had this mouse now for well over a year and are very happy with it! Once we put some decent batteries into it we have had seamless mousing for months on end. We use the mouse relatively often and have yet to change the batteries from the new ones we put in shortly after buying!

This is a great Mouse! love it!

This mouse is great except that it is difficult to know how to change the batteries. I should be simple and easy to open the compartment.

    Magic Mouse

This is a really wonderful mouse. Smooth, comfortable, versatile and precise with very good looks to boot. I love the multidirectional touch sensitive top - so easy to use wherever your fingers go. Yes, the tracks need a little cleaning every now and then but that's easy to do with a wipe of a finger. Once loaded with the popular brands of batteries I use the magic mouse never lets me down. The design of the sides means the mouse lifts to make it seem weightless as it glides across the mat. V quiet click too.

Great mouse -- when it connects

    • Written by from Baltimore

This is the best mouse I have ever used, when it it is working. It gives you the precision of a mouse with the flow of a touchpad. But all too often it doesn't work, because it has lost its bluetooth connection. And once you get it reconnected (which is usually a slow process) it can disconnect again a little while later. It is hard to find a pattern or a reason for this problem as it comes and goes. The poor bluetooth implementation of this mouse takes it from a 5 star product to a 2.5 star product (I gave it three stars because I am in a good mood).

    Best mouse I've used

Mine came with my Mac Pro in June and I've become pretty used to it. My initial experience was of jerky and slowish tracking and loss of BT connection but these problems went when the batteries supplied were changed for good rechargeable ones (Uniross Premium Hybrio precharged, if anyone is interested, though I'm sure some other's will be as good), which have lasted for over two months or so without recharging.

The sensitivity to gestures is very good, although sensitivity to unintended touches can be a bit annoying at times (e.g. sudden changes in page position). Otherwise I've had no problem at all getting used to the light touch needed rather than it fitting into my hand like most other mouses.

I bought this mouse a year ago and its still is working perfect. The one little complaint I have is that the battery cover fell off not even a day after i bought it and it is held on with a piece of tape, but all in all it is a very good product

    Mouse Causes Pain in Hand

Puzzled that this mouse has been around for several years, and in spite of many complaints, it hasn't been redesigned.

Having the latest technical features in your mouse can't trump having to o to a doctor because of pain in your hand. I also developed a callus on the part of they hand where the wrist meets the rest of the hand.

I'm returning to Apple it pronto!

    Batteries get's sucked fast, literally!

The battery drainage is overwhelmingly fast. You have to keep turning the mouse button off to save battery life but after working all day, you just forget. Buy rechargeable batteries, that should fix it. One other gripe I have about this mouse is the ergonomic. It may be slick in design but the grip of it gives me arthritis pain, make sure to massage upper hand area during usage.

Hardware failed after 14 months. Mouse is recognized but cursor is frozen, even after trying several suggested solutions. Optical lens apparently not working. Expected higher quality from Apple.

    Be careful of interference!

This mouse has a lot of cool features. The swiping comes in handy a lot and I use the gestures all the time. I personally don't think the mouse feels that bad to hold, a lot of others suggest the ergonomics aren't very good, but I guess that's just a personal thing. The design is really nice, looks sort of futuristic without being corny. The only problem I have is with the connection. I have a lot of wireless things in my apartment (not to mention the many routers around my apartment complex) that are giving so much interference that my wireless mouse and keyboard and borderline useless. I constantly have to just use my iPod touch or phone as a mouse and keyboard. I wish they made an input on the mouse to plug in a USB cable so you can use it wired, or maybe even an "Air" mouse or keyboard (don't see that being too reliable, but then again, Bluetooth isn't doing so well for me.) Oh well, if you don't have tons of wireless things going on around your house (or wherever), then this mouse is a good choice, otherwise, maybe consider something wired.

    Nice looking, bad using

Apple has always made cool looking innovative mice, that are uncomfortable to use. The original mouse - too square and boxie.
The bondi blue hockey puck - hard to hold because its round
The Apple Mouse - close!! The little trackball sometimes is a problem.
The Magic Mouse - too flat.

This has always been a problem for them, because stuff that fits in your hand isn't attractive. For me I use a competitors wireless mouse 5000 because its big and round and rubbery and fits nicely in my hand and works very well for a long time.

I love Apple products, but they don't do mice very well.

excellent product, however not worth anywhere near $70.

the design and function of this mouse is perfect. everything works as advertised. very sleek and elegant. however, $70? way too much for this mouse. even tho it's a fantastic mouse, it's not worth $70. just because things are overpriced, doesn't mean it's a bad product. would still highly recommend, but either cringe and spend the $70 or get one new or used on other sites for less.

As with any device, it takes some time to get used to, but I now find myself using it more intuitively than my old mouse. The only negative is that I now have difficulties using a mouse on another computer.

    Good Mouse

This mouse is extremely sleek and low profile, but once again Apple has designed it for style and not comfort. The mouse did not slide well on my granite counter top, so I placed a mouse pad underneath and it worked like a breeze. Absolutely no connection problems whatsoever. Overall, good mouse and I would recommend the mouse to any friend.

Frequently looses connection, has difficulty re-connecting

Nice design attempt, but poor bluetooth implementation compared to the Apple bluetooth keyboards. Have two magic mice, and both loose their connection frequently, and once the connection has been lost, it can take over a minute or require a power cycle or two to re-connect. Very annoying. Some mentions on the web that loose batteries might be the problem. Doesn't explain the long reconnect times. I recommend the keyboard, not the mouse.

    Fantastic, but...

I was use to my basic Logitech mouse, so when I first got the Magic Mouse that came with my iMac I hated it. It was just too heavy and felt awkward. So I stuck the thing into a drawer and there it set for almost a year. When my other mouse went toes-up, I pulled the Apple out of mothballs and started using it. Wow, what was I thinking when I stuck it in the drawer. This thing is great!

It does take some getting use to. Be patient, it is worth it. The mouse combines the best of 2 technologies, mouse and touch pad. The added swipe and tap gestures give you so much more control at your finger tips. Safari is especially enhanced by these features.

I would have given it 5 stars if it weren't for two things:
-It's not a good mouse for portability. It is heavier than the typical mouse and the top surface is glass. One bad drop on a hard surface and there goes $69.
-Battery life is awful. This mouse gets hungry a lot. I have to feed it new batteries every 4-6 weeks. Rechargeable batteries are a must.
