    BEST MOUSE EVER!

    • Written by from Lake Stevens

I was pretty skeptical at first because of all the negative reviews I had read, but I bought one anyway, and I am VERY glad I did! I do not understand what people are talking about when they say that the mouse is "jittery" maybe it is the date of their hardware? I have a late 2012 MacBook Pro and this mouse works flawlessly!

    Apple Magic

This mouse is great. Of course in typical fashion this device works great with the mac through bluetooth. My only complaint would be that the mouse is sometimes hard to grip. Worth the price!!

    I love this thing!

After trying every kind of mouse and trackpad available, I keep going back to the Magic Mouse. I can't explain it, but for some reason the combination of the total freedom of a movable mouse, combined with the incredibly sensitive surface that accepts whatever gesture I like, using however many fingers, is absolutely the easiest user interface I've ever encountered.
I have one I use at home, another I take on the road, and since they are wireless, they just get tossed wherever they are needed.

Another bonus is the fact that they are fairly sparing of batteries, even when left turned on all the time

I just keep two rechargeable AA batteries in a charger plugged in nearby, and when the mouse batteries get low, I swap them for the ones in the charger. No sweat, and of course I have some regular alkaline AA batteries around if needed.

    Not worth it.

The touchpad is great, and having a wireless mouse on your desktop seems like a good enough idea - until your batteries start dying on you in the middle of doing something at least once a month.

After a few years, mine started losing its connection all the time - even with full battery. I think what happens is the batteries jostle around inside and then it loses power for just a second. Then it loses connection and stops working, and I have to wait a few minutes for the computer to find it again. My mouse loses connection like 10 times a day now. It's all but useless. I'm going to have to go buy a wired mouse, because this is just stupid.

    Magic Mouse has died

    • Written by from Primbee

Loved my magic mouse but a little under 2yrs and my mouse is dead. I thought it might be compatibility issues with Mountain Lion, which I've just upgraded to, but after reading many, many reviews it appears a lot of people are reporting the same thing. The mouse does not last long before it just stops working. This mouse is expensive and should last a LOT longer than what it has. Also agree with many others, does go through a lot of batteries. I'm still deciding if I'm going to spend so much money to buy another one or stick to my old Microsoft mouse plugged in to USB, at least it's reliable, very old but still working!

Do not use for design work

    • Written by from Saint Paul

This is the most frustrating piece of Apple equipment I have ever tried using. I was looking forward to the wireless mouse, with less wires running across my desk, but the Magic Mouse is almost impossible to work with when trying to do graphic design, the slightest touch sends it zooming over to the opposite side of the page.

    Love it

So basically this mouse is the best mouse i've ever had. I gave it 4/5 stars cause it's kinda hard to get that excited about a mouse. That being said I've had mine for well over a year now and it's still at 100% battery life. THAT is amazing. It's also a little pricy but i got it as a gift so it was great.

    Mighty Mouse

    • Written by from New York

Bought this mouse after a lot of deliberation and I must say that despite all the negative comments about battery life and poor wifi connectivity, this beautifully crafted instrument does the job for me. I mostly use the mouse for day to day work, which includes a lot of work on excel and I have personally never faced any of the problems mentioned in the reviews.

    Very good mouse

    • Written by from Cantonment

I have had this mouse for around a year now and am very pleased with it from all aspects:

Super accurate in both the mouse pointer and the touch pad on top.
Very convenient to use a touch pad instead of a click wheel.
I've had no pain in the wrist while using it, just hold your hand over it properly as
    demonstrated in the product video.
The battery life is awesome, only had to change it once all year.
Being wireless keeps the desk looking clean!

    What Happened?

    • Written by from Simpsonville

I have used this mouse for several years with no problems and was very happy with it until recently. Now it has become almost unusable at times due to skipping and lagging with movement. Its unresponsive and freezes up at times. Based on support posts on apples sight, there are quite a few complaints about this. Ive seen many different explanations of the problem, but it sounds like a bluetooth connection issue. Regardless, how has it work fine for years and then seemed to recently start acting up? This should have been fixed. Ive actually got my apple wired mouse back out because I cant take it anymore! This thing is not functional!

    Chronic Wrist/Hand Pain

    • Written by from Dublin

I've been using this mouse for over a month now, and I've never been in so much pain! Even when I'm home from the office over the weekends not using the mouse, my wrist, knuckles, and pinky finger still ache. I've found the only semi-comfortable way to use it (if you're a frequent user like myself) is to place a bit of stiff cloth in the palm of my hand to fill that awkward bit of space between your hand and the mouse. I will be ordering a 3rd party device or at least a mmfixed shortly to avoid any permanent carpal tunnel or tendon damage

    Stopped working

    • Written by from Somerset

The mouse looks nice, but it is not suitable for extended periods of use. Batteries drain in about a month compared to other mice lasting a year or so, It does not work well on google maps (end up zooming out all the way by accident / zooming in fully). And now mine has stopped working properly... have to click very hard for anything to happen. Why can't Apple just make something so simple as a mouse WORK properly, not cost a ridiculous amount of money and just do its job without pretending to be some super-ergonomic god device.

    Magic Mouse

    • Written by from Roanoke rapids

Recently purchased this product for my macbook pro to use when Im at work for the ergonomic comfort it offers vs the built in track pad. Looks great and operates seemlessly, the slim profile makes it easy to travel with. If you use a desk top computer I would recomend looking for a larger mouse that your hand can naturally curve around though.

Loved it but didn't last long

I had this mouse for about a year and a half when it just stopped working. I really liked it -- great ergonomic feel and intuitive to use. But not sure I'd pay $69 for another one.

    Appalling

    • Written by from Arlington

Bought this mouse new from Apple a little over a year ago. Since the moment I purchased it, I thought something was wrong because it was so sensitive, but no that's just how it was designed (evidenced by others on display). My apartment complex also uses these, so I went with it.

GOODS: mouse gestures (swiping across the mouse to go forward/back in browser); it's glossy finish is beautiful and smooth texture feels nice; it's design seems like its good for both right and left handers

BADS: super sensitive at times, other times clicks don't register (like a keyboard where the button doesn't come back up) and that is frustrating; is not very ergonomic (eventual hand pain) and is kind of small

It's a good attempt, but a bad product. I can't believe I spent $70 on this and another ~$40 on the Mobee charger (which worked great, but is now useless). Now a year later and it's stopped working after an accidental drop onto the floor (I was sitting in Starbucks and it fell ~2-3 feet and no longer turned on). So not only is it click-mechanism sensitive, it is also sensitive to one accidental drop. -- I'll see how the Logitech holds up

    What a great mouse!

    • Written by from BOWEN HILLS

After seeing some of the reviews, I was dubious about my decision to purchase.

Let me say this, this product is FANTASTIC!

I find it much more comfortable and intuitive to use than the inbuilt trackpad and it definitely the best mouse I have ever used! (Oh and it's pretty to look at too!)

My favourite gesture is the single finger swipe to go back one page in the web browser. The single finger scrolling is also a great tool.

Ignore the haters, this mouse works brilliantly.

    Stay Away

    • Written by from SAN RAFAEL

I saw the suggestion for PC users to get the Magic Mouse instead of the Trackpad. Don't do it. The mouse is incredibly heavy and clunky. The scroll function is nice, but that's it. I just got the Trackpad to replace the Magic Mouse. The Trackpad is incredible. It's worth getting an iMac just for the Trackpad. The touch is so light and responsive and does so many things. It feels very elegant and it's a pleasure. Stay away from the Magic Mouse. I can't believe it's made by the same company.
