I have a 2008 Mac Pro 2.8 with dual quad and 14 gig 800 ram. What will give me a good upgrade for photoshop and aperture editing large photo files

I also have a hi Res display. Will any of the MacBook pros approach the Mac Pro for speed?

MacBook Air vs MacBook Pro with retina display

I am going into high school next year, and I know I'll need a new laptop, but I'm debating between the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro with Retina display 13in. I would upgrade the processor on both models, and the RAM on the air. I don't know how much faster the MacBook Pro with retina would be though. I program in X-code (cocoa), would run Boot Camp, Use FCPX, and Logic Pro 9 as well as other basic programs for school. I know I can't afford the 15in MacBooks which are much faster, so I don't know if there would be much difference between the two. Thanks in advanced!

iMac or macbook pro?

Hello,

I was wondering if I should get an iMac or Macbook Pro? I love the speed of the iMac, plus the memory. It also is cheaper than the Macbook Pro. I am homeschooled, and travel from MA to FL every year, and found the iLugger. I code, play minecraft and starcraft, and didn't know if you had any recommendations on portability vs speed + memory?

Which mac would suit me?macbook pro, the air, or the retina?

Hello everyone,
I am going to go in 11th and would be requiring a laptop. After some research, I decided to buy a MacBook. But here is the problem, which MacBook should I buy?
I would be using my macbook for-
-web surfing
- essays and presentations
- light or basic photo and video editing. These videos would be at least 720p.
- really basic gaming.
These uses are my estimated uses and might change according to the time.
I want a light machine that doesn't add bulk to my bag, but also want a powerful machine too. For this power, the weight of the machine would be ignored. I want a really responsive machine, which looks really stunning.
I have decided to go with the 13 inch form factor as it is a lot more portable, and also reasonably cheap. So, should I buy a MacBook Pro or the air or MacBook Pro retina?
This is a really important decision for me as once I buy this machine, it would be with me for at least 5 years.
Also, would 4gb ram be ample for me or should I go for the 8gb?
