Will I be able to display subtitles and cc on movies and content I stream from Netflix (assuming Netflix provides cc with that movie) using Apple TV?
Currently I have a Samsung blue ray player that functions well to stream Netflix movies but will not display cc even when I know it is available and can be streamed and displayed on my MacBook Pro.

what channels can I get with apple TV
I am paying way too much for cable TV with Comcast. Trying to find another way to get TV. Would we be able to get History channel, Discovery channel, Disney, Nick,HGTV and of course ABC NBC and CBS to name a few of the channels we watch? Not so much worried about movie channels. Thinking of investing in Apple TV. What would I need to purchase to get up and running?

AnswerYes this should be possible. As long as your hard drive when connected via USB can be accessed from you computer then there is no issues, all you do is have your iTunes library on the hard drive then locate it when you open iTunes on your computer. Once iTunes is running the Apple TV will stream from that library on that hard drive.
I have used this method and a NAS drive connected via ethernet to the router or switch and simply switch between multiple libraries on either drive.- Answered by John K

does it have internal storage?
i wanted to know whether the ap.tv had internal storage so i can add my media directly to it

AnswerThe Apple TV does have 8GB of onboard storage but you cannot access it directly so you cannot use this to store your own media on it.
You can stream media to it either through iTunes in the cloud (i.e. renting a movie or buying a movie from iTunes or any music you have purchased from iTunes) or by hooking up to a computer on the same internal network which is running iTunes and playing any media you have stored in iTunes on that computer.
You can also use it to view Neflix (with a subscription) or YouTube or Vimeo (for free).
You can also use it to view photos that are in your Photostream account (i.e. taken with either an iPhone or iPad) or streaming music from iTunes Match (with a subscription.
Hope that helps

A few (confusing) questions regarding wifi connection/Airplay?
So I am interested in picking one of these up as soon as possible however I have a couple of questions regarding set up that I will try to word the best I can...
1. I live in an apartment building that provides free wifi and was wondering if during set up I would have access to the MAC number as for non-browser enabled devices I usually have to email the MAC to our wireless internet provider. I am assuming setting up wifi for an Apple TV would be similar to a blu ray player... But wanted to make sure before I purchased an Apple TV.
2. In regards to Airplay: If I wanted to stream my iPhone to my Apple TV... How does that exactly work? I understand that it has to be on the same network but is it also account based or do I link the devices up? I am just curious considering there are 300 units in my building connected to the same network and I wouldn't want it to accidentally pop up on someone elses screen if that is even at all possible.
Thanks in advanced.- Asked by Miguel R from Baltimore

AnswerHi, question 2 is pretty straightforward. AppleTv does require you to have a valid itunes account/appleID to operate fully and it only feeds to the TV it is connected to (by HDMI cable).
As to question 1 - not sure but at $99 it is worth giving it a go??- Answered by Stephen M

AnswerWhen you have your Apple TV turned on, just double click on your iphone 5's home button, then swipe all the way to the right. Select airplay mirroring. This should work because I have an iphone 5 and the latest Apple TV
