Performance and life are achieved by following the instructions in the Help section. Calibrate the battey once a month per the instructions, and don't leave it plugged in all the time. If you constantly use the power cord, remove the battery so it doesn't over charge. If you do these two things you'll get long life.

The effective life cycle with other rechargeable battery systems I have used seems to be about the same.

I was concerned about additional damage or safety hazard so I removed the battery. I called Apple Support and they agreed without dispute to send a replacement under warranty at no charge. Apple is still the best overall computer experience I have had!

The battery life was declining day by day, which was a worry, as new one cost £100. Yesterday, disaster. My MacBook Pro was wobbling on the desk. The battery was swollen. My God. I was in shock.
Apple, you must sort this swelling out. It has really annoyed me, as now I've got to pay out.
Other remarks - the battery is way too hot. I even saw someone on the internet fry an egg on it!!!
Shame, as I love Apple products in general, and though this has annoyed me, I still do support Apple, as it's the best on the market for designers.

My Macbook pro gets used non stop, I mean, it's turned on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
For £109 you can't beat it.
When it was new I could over 10 hours charge in it which did a whole day at the office, now I'm a housewife and I use it to surf the internet, watch movies etc on. It gets a good 8 hours use a day still and I get 3 hours watching films or playing games out of a full charge.
I cannot understand how people can give the battery a poor review when you get quality like this.

When I used to have HP and Compaq lap tops I had 3 hours when they were new and 1 hour charge by the time they were a year old, by 18 months you had t have it plugged in full time or fork out £60 for a battery.
Proof that you get what you pay for.

Went to use my MBP one day and couldn't figure out why it was not sitting level on my desk. I turned it over and found the battery Went to use my MBP one day and couldn't figure out why it was not sitting level on my desk. I turned it over and found the battery was swelled up and bursting from the body. I thought I was the only one to have this problem, until reading these reviews. Do not plug the laptop in unless the battery is completely drained. Prolonged power will destroy the battery. Sad situation.
