    Trackpad paralyzed

    • Written by from Taichung City

The color and texture of the palmguard is tacky, but for protective purposes it'll have to do. My beef is with the trackguard, once installed onto the trackpad of my 15" MBP retina, the trackpad ignores all the gestures except for the hard click.

Track Pad Protector inhibits it's use...

    • Written by from Cheyenne

The product is great!!!, i use my mac book-pro in a lab and heavy machinery settings, thus i am vary cautious with my mac and all my equipment for that matter, the palm guard portion works great along with the "Moshi" keyboard guard and the hard shell case, but i found the Track-Pad protector, inhibited its use to an extent i had to remove that portion, it just was not picking up my jesters, or even tracking at some points, i thought if i rubbed it in more it would improve, it did but to no avail....
The Product is still good, and i am fully utilizing it...LOL with the exception of the track-pad cover!
we pay enough for this stuff for at least a couple little things to be thought of, i even thought when purchasing this protective gear, "the track-pad" might be affected, but obviously i did not know to what extent....
If any one else has had this issue, and can fix it in some manner please feel free to let me know....
    thank you

    Very Poor Sizing

    • Written by from Richmond Hill

I don't know why other comments rated this garbage five star. But mine is peeled off right after installed. Both left and right side are bigger than the pro itself. Moreover, the one on magicpad is way smaller than the actual size. MONEY WASTER!

    Excellent

    • Written by from Chorley

This is a great product that fits seamlessly in with the MBP. Almost no reason not to include it as part of the cost of your new mac, particularly if you intend to use it a lot. Been using this protector for 5 months without fault, the laptop came as a gift, and it took me almost 3 months of use before I noticed it had this protector included. As beautiful as the laptop itself, correct colour and most of all clean. Doesn't pick up dirt at all or affect the trackpad function. Peels off easily, and can be reapplied again and again without loss of grip.
Only problem I have is the material. Being plastic, touching it all the time makes it greasy and sticky, which you will be aware of if you've used an iPhone earlier than the 4, and can make it frustrating to use. Therefore, it requires regular cleaning. However actual dirt or stains are no problem, it is a wipe-clean surface not subject to scratches.
    Aesthetics: 10
    Function: 10
    Durability: 10
    Usability: 9
If you intend to use your Macbook Pro seriously for a long time this is a must.

My Second experience with Moshi Palmguard

    • Written by from MIRANDA

I have used Moshi Palm Guard on my MacBook Pro13 from 2011. I used it for over a year and was very happy with this product.
It was, therefore, natural that I ordered the same for my 15 inch Macbook Pro 2012 too.
As before, I am very happy.
    Delivery was super quick.

    Colour Match: Perfect
Quality and Finish: Excellent -- its a very good quality product.

Some people will not like the track pad guard. I suggest that you dont throw the protective layer away. apply trackpad guard and see how you go . If you dont like it , take it off and stik it back onto the original covering to keep it for later re-trial.

    EXCELLENT!! Except the trackpad gaurd.

    • Written by from Auckland

I will keep it short. I bought the Moshi PalmGuard to protect my MBP's palm rest area. Two things worried me about the purchase- 1) The color and shape matching with the aluminum, and 2) Putting it on and the after effects.

The first thing I absolutely love about the product is the 100% perfect color matching that Moshi has achieved. And I am very finicky about my MAC. A single dust speck drives me nuts. But the palm guard just blends in and is absolutely unidentifiable unless you run your fingers around the top edge where it ends, just below the speakers, and feel the almost non-existent boundary. The precision cutting on the thing is amazing and there is absolutely no rough or ugly edges poking out over the sides at all.

Putting it on was a breeze! The semi-rigid material really makes aligning it easy. Just get a feel first without removing the protective backing, and then go for it. It just falls into place. I have been using it continuously for over three weeks, and there has been no adhesive spill overs, or corners bending upwards. It is just an invisible layer of protection, and feels great!. I will recommend it to everyone!

About the trackpad protector: The trackpad on the MBPs are glass, and don't need that much protection. Also nothing can provide the same feel on surface as glass. Which is why I chose not to use that part. It is lying safe in my closet. I didn't like the feel of it. Or rather I prefer the feel of the smooth glass. So I left it bare, and it has done me no harm- cosmetic or otherwise. I can't comment if the trackpad guard will reduce the sensitivity of the trackpad, but considering it will cover up the glass, I wouldn't be surprised if it did. I am not risking it. It is important to remember that the palm rest is a dormant area. The trackpad is a functional area, and one that relies on touch sensitiveness at that.

    Lost track pad response

    • Written by from Pyrmont

when I first saw/felt this on a friends computer, I loved it. I liked the feeling under my palms when I touch type. The bare metal of the Mac somehow felt bad. With this guard, this was fixed. I also loved the tactile feel of the track pad guard. So I rushed to buy one.
Now I've had them on for a week or so, I've found a great loss on the track pad. I like to point and click anywhere on the track pad and that has become almost impossible now. I now find I have to click in the bottom of the track pad and it renders the apple option of track pad clicking useless. There is no comparison to the tactile response without this track pad guard. As much as I love the product, for that reason alone being such a let down, I've scaled back my rating.

Best solution to hiding pitting and hand marks.

    • Written by from Melton Mowbray

Just bought the Moshi Palmguard 15" and I have to say that i'm really impressed with the product!

I bought the Palmguard in desperation when I noticed that my 1 year old Macbook Pro was developing what seemed like bleached/ stained/ wear marks where my hands rest next to the trackpad. Even with Apple Care protection, Apple would not replace my uni body and so I seeked a product that could discretely hide the marks. This was difficult for me to do as I am a firm believer that Apple devices are things of beauty and should not be covered with any type of peripheral or stickers. However, I can say with confidence that the Moshi Palmguard is fantastic! Very discrete, blends in well with the colour and feel of the Macbooks aluminium. Hardly notice it's there at all!

I bought this to prevent my MacBook Pro from getting worn and dirty. It blends in with the color of the Mac and is still easy to use the trackpad. Hope it stays on for a long time!

    High Quality Product

I've had no complaints for the most part with my Moshi 15" Palm Rest Protector, it blends in very well and does not interfere with regular use. The only grief I have had with it is the loss of stickiness as it is peeling off now and needs replacement...

    Great product!!!

    • Written by from Glendale

I just got my palmguard came in today and I have to say it is absolutely worth it. The color fits perfectly with the aluminum unibody on my 15" mbp and it's extremely easy to install. However, I didn't use the trackpad protector since I noticed a lack of sensitivity when doing single click but worked fine with multi-gestures. Not sure why.

Overall, it's a great product and you will not regret spending $25 on it.

    Simple and effective

This PalmGuard is a great solution - it really is sized perfectly, and the precision of the color matching is impressive. I was ambivalent toward the trackpad guard, but tracking texture is an intensely personal matter. I was sad to leave this on the MPB I just sold, but I'm buying another right now.

    Too much protection

    • Written by from Sungai Siput

The palmguard palm rest protector is good to avoid any accidental scratch on your MBP but it will also decrease the sensibility of your touch pad. After sticking the protector on your touch pad, you will not able to perform 1. double click (touch) & 2. Zoom in. So think twice before you purchase.

    Absolutely essential!

    • Written by from Denver

This is an essential product for those looking to protect the palm rest of their MBP from scratches and dings. I purchased this for my late-2009 15" MBP, and it transfered flawlessly to my new 15" i7 MBP when the other unit had to be replaced; there have been no problems with adhesion.

I do not use the trackpad protector because I found an unacceptable depreciation in responsiveness when I did, but it's absolutely worth buying the product just for the hand plant protector. The protecter does exactly what it's supposed to, and it looks fantastic! I use it along with the Moshi keyboard protector, which also functions very well though can deform a little with heat and use.

Just installed this on our 13" and 15" MBP's and they work great. The track pad is ever so slightly less responsive but you get used to it rather quickly. Highly recommend these IOT keep the palm and trackpad area looking good as new.
