Most inconvenient headphones I've ever had, especially for the price!!

    • Written by from CHAPEL HILL

The earbuds fall off constantly even with basic movement. I am now conditioned to treat them like something that could fall apart at any moment. It's so terrible that I've considered superglueing them on, but at this point I've lost almost all the rubber buds so the ones I'm using are mismatched. I would never buy these again unless they figure out a better way to connect the tips to the headphones. Way too expensive to be this poorly built.

    Really Irritating

    • Written by from Saint Paul

I was very excited to get these headphones, as I had been needing a pair of quality earbuds due to the cheap ones constantly breaking on me. The first few months I was quite pleased with this set, but then the ear pieces (the cushion part) began constantly popping off and getting lost. I wasn't handling them rough at all, I'd merely grab them from my bag and they would fall off. I am very disappointed and frustrated because it has now been too long to return them, so I just have to shell out another hefty amount of cash for a new pair to replace them (they won't be from Apple). Apple, please fix these! Your products are usually so wonderful.

    No bass sound

    • Written by from R

Bought this earphone thinking it would work better than the regular one that costs half the price but, for my surprise, it is worse. No matter which earbud I choose, I can't get a bass response. Works like a defective piece. I wouldn't recommend for anybody.

    • Written by from Burbank

I'm a runner and I've owned at least 5 of these cheap things. Each one broke within 3-4 months. And they sell for $30???? The $10 Sony's lasted 2 years!!! I'm down buying apple products. They are seriously annoying me now. Time to go back to good old PCs.

Really Good . . . Better then beats

    • Written by from Lehi

I bought these about two years ago and I really like them. They give me a little shock, I clean out my ears and they are fine. The silicone ear piece did come off in my ear once and I got a little panicked but it can out. I just make sure that I keep the silicone pressed on all the time. That may annoy some people but I like them way more then the beats inner ear ones that I bought.

    Fantastic!

    • Written by from Northampton

As soon as i got these as a Christmas present, i made sure i fitted the correct silicone buds for my ears, which is where i guess a few of the negative reviewers went wrong. They were miles better than the free ones i got with my iPhone and i've just doubled the experience by fitting them with some Comply Whoomp! memory foam earbuds. I'm now unable to listen to them at full volume because the bass is head numbing!
After having them for nearly 2 years the rubber has started to split where the leads go into the headphones on both sides, which I've cured with some white electrical tape Blue Peter style!
When it's time to replace them i'd definitely consider another pair.

    Looking to buy 3rd pair

    • Written by from Wheaton

I'm on the verge of buying my 3rd pair of these over a 5 year period (I think). These have been the best sounding and most comfortable earbuds I have ever purchased.

I an only say again, you MUST experiment with the different size silicone caps that come with them to find the right fit. Once you do, you can buy a bag of 10 replacement (offbrand) caps on Amazon for super cheap. I do lose an occasional cap, but I have a bag full of replacements.

Other more expensive buds do sound good but have TOO much noise canceling and a super annoying swish swish sound when the cable rubs against your jacket. I like to be able to have a good happy medium between passive noise cancellation while still being aware of my surroundings.

For the price, I can't find a more comfortable and better sounding pair.

These head phones are pretty good bit overpriced. Had three pairs of these waiting for my fourth set. If your not getting the bass maybe change the size of the buds it's napped to me before the sound is totally different without the right size buds on

Bassophiles, this bud's not for you

    • Written by from Wilton

These entry level dual-driver buds provide a clean, transparent, balanced, compressed mix, with the individually driven two-way speakers providing some air and dimension. The bass is there but in balance, like a professionally mixed and mastered recording.

I wonder what the market is for these buds. I figure you've got your typical iMasses who dont even care and just use whatever stock buds came w/their device, you've got your bassophiles/Beats crowd who won't like these, and you've got your audiophiles paying $280 and up for upmarket stuff. What's the selling point here besides being the most affordable dual-drivers ... and do people even know what that is? and if they do, Apple doesn't even tout that anywhere on or in the packaging.

I replaced my last set because left earphone died and now the exact same thing happened with new ones. Great sound, looks, comfort, carrying case etc. but durability is just disastrous.

    Garbage

    • Written by from Ljubljana

Been using them for a year.

    cons.:
-The gray plastic at the end of connector and ear-piece literally rot away, after 6 months of NON frequent use.
    -No Bass.
-The silicon tips keep falling off.
-The volume control stopped working as well.
    -Overpriced.

    pros.:
    -They look nice.

    Don't get these

    • Written by from Cincinnati

I've had two pairs. The main reason I went to this model was that the new standard earbuds were too large for my ears. These offer limited frequency response, the ear buds fall off, and the left side drops out. I would look at other manufacturers.

I used the h-e-double-hockey sticks outta these (Apple won't let me curse)

    • Written by from Seattle

...and after three years, they're starting to fall apart. Still, a good value at $27 a year. For all you haters who can't hang onto the silicone tips (yeah, I lost one too), go to Amazon and order a three-pair set of Comply Whoomp Foam Tips for $15. They will absolutely block out outside noise and allow you to listen to music or carry on a phone conversation in a noisy area.

    Good buds...

    • Written by from Calgary

I must admit the sound quality is really good. However, living in a dry climate (Calgary) like I do, I have noticed, after time, static electricity build up on the metallic speakers to which the rubber buds attach to. Sometimes the discharge of static electricity is quite painful, so I remedied the situation by taking clear tape and adhering to the speakers on both the left and right side. It definitely solved the problem, but I hoped I wouldn't have resorted to such measures. Out of really good ear buds that I've used, these are good except that.

    Thanks for your attention.

An Ok Headphone, Not worth the price

    • Written by from Mountain View

The highs and mids are good. as expected with a two driver headphone, It really does allow you to hear more detail. However, the bass is non existent unless you create a perfect seal with the headphone in your ear. I was expecting more. They look like the regular headphones Apple offers, so don't expect anyone to notice your 80 dollar headphones. Now for the major downfalls. The earpieces are not comfortable! it comes with 3 sizes and none fit just right. and they begin to hurt after a while If you manage to get them in just right don't expect them to come off in one piece. The earpiece will pop off in your ear while the rest comes out and you have to fish it out of your ear. In fact they pop off so easily i have already lost almost all of them.

A huge apple fan but honestly the worst purchase I've ever made...

    • Written by from Manchestet

I purchased the headphones less than one month ago and was quite happy with the product even though over priced at £65 in my opinion but hey, then they decided to BRAKE. The headphones were fine for around 2 weeks on till the left ear began to develop a crackle in the the quality, soon after the sound became quieter and seem distant and exactly 5 days ago the left headphone stopped producing sound altogether . Recently the right ear headphone has developed the same crackle and most probably will STOP WORKING altogether like the left side of the headphones. So anyone interested in these headphones look away because they are not worth the MONEY absolute let down !!!. I personally would purchase the standard pair that you receive in the box of your iPhone/iPod ect which I will be doing on payday, a cheaper, longer lasting product with with still quite impressive quality.

    Fantastic in-ear buds.

    • Written by from Jarrell

I was a little skeptical about purchasing these headphones because, to be honest, I have never really liked the traditional Apple earbuds that come with the new products. I actually received these as a gift from a friend. Now that I've had a chance to use them, I would definitely buy them for myself.

Considering the fact that these are not studio monitors I can still hear a higher level of detail than with traditional earbuds. I keep seeing people talk about not getting the bass response that they want from these and it's really a simple matter of fact... The drivers are tiny. They fit in your ear. An effective bass speaker needs to push a lot of air very slowly to make a big bang and that's why car speakers are so large and in sealed boxes most of the time. Tiny little speakers just aren't very effective at reproducing the super low notes, but I digress.

I would recommend these ear buds for those who like sound quality more than sound quantity.
