    awful

    • Written by from Colonial heights

bought this around the end of December and a little more than 3 months later it's already broken. I should not be paying $30 dollars for something i NEED that cant even hold up for half of a year.

Just too many problems with these cables

    • Written by from CENTREVILLE

I don't know why there are so many issues with my cables, but it isn't just me. My wife and daughter have also had cables that have gone bad very quickly. It is very annoying, and I would think that Apple would have taken care of this issue long ago.

    AWFUL, OVER PRICED, NOT DURABLE!!

    • Written by from Renfrew

To put it quite frank I am embarrassed that a company as big as Apple cannot make chargers for their products that are durable and sustainable! My advise to anyone is do not invest hundreds of pounds into a mobile phone that has a charger that breaks after a few months. The leads are faulty and useless and terribly made! Apple design team should be ashamed that they for one are design these chargers and charging consumers £25 to replace something they did NOT break!! Very very frustrated angry and disappointed customer!!!

    Fix chargers

    • Written by from Brooklyn

We have four phones in my family. all the cords are broken. Ive resorted to buying a no name cord from Radio Shack that lasted way longer than this apple cord. The reason i resorted to Radio Shacks charger is I took two broken chargers to apple and they only replace one, the other i had to pay for. So now that the two that were replaced and the other two are also broken, there's no chargers in the house. I've been bumming off of co-workers until I again replace this charger after i finish writing this review.

EARTH to Apple get better chargers please..... Real apples that you eat (after being bitten) lifespan last longer than these phone chargers.

And that one star rating is only because it wont let me review unless i rate this product.

    Costs TOO MUCH

    • Written by from Waipahu

These cables don't last long enough, but now that I have the iPhone 6 Lifeproof case, this is the only cable I can find that's compatible and so I am stuck. There is absolutely no excuse for the high cost of these cables. They're barely worth $10.00!!! I have been an Apple user for 9 years now and I am on my third iPhone, but I am just so tired of them charging so much for something so basic. Help me use your product by making your charger more reasonably priced, please!!

They need to fix this piece of .....

    • Written by from Haverhill

I've blown through so many of these. They literally just stop working months later. Apple needs to fix this mess, or charge wayyyyyy less for them. worth about $5 for the amount of times i've replaced this cable. Never had problems with the old one.

The charger broke in a week !!!!!!!

    • Written by from Killeen

I'm really fond of the apple products and don't want to change over to android because I just love my iPhone 5 . But I can never charge it because I'm constantly without a charger . I have to use my buddy's everyday when I get to school . But I'm not going to ever buy a new one until they are completely fixed . Because my charger broke in a week and I treated it as best as possible

    Junk

    • Written by from Toronto

The thing about Apple is you always paid more for their products but the reason was you knew you got better quality. I've had two power adapters just stop working, replaced one lighting cord in the first 4 months and am about to replace the second cord around a year later. Along with the problems with my iPad mini, they have lost me as a repeat customer. There's simply no reason to pay more if you don't get more for the price.

    very very poor quality

    • Written by from Willow Park

I received my new I phone 6 plus in November 2014. Including the one cord that came with the phone I am about to order my 4th. They just quit working. I don't get it!! I know 10 years ago I never had this problem. I am definitely reading about the warranty in these & going to follow through & return or get my money back with this one when it fails. These should last for years!! I don't use them in my car or move them around house. I leave it in one spot & charge my phone every night. Very disappointed in the quality & price of this junk. I expect more from Apple. They need to stand behind their products.

    Design failure. Breaks easily.

    • Written by from Eastham

This cable is poorly designed where the cable joins the connector, which is a stress point. It needs some reinforcement there, like a bit of heat shrink tubing which is what I will add to my current one before it fails completely and the next one I buy when I get it. Everybody I know has had a problem with this cable at exactly the same stress point and Apple should recognize by now that this is a poor design and fix it and then offer free or discounts replacements. For a company noted for design, this one is an epic fail.

Worst quality cable you will ever find.

    • Written by from Ramsey

Like all the other reviews, I was in the habit of having to buy new cables every 5 minutes until I extended the lifespan myself.

Admittedly, it is a crude way of extending the life of these inferior cables but it has worked on both my iPhone and iPad cables. When i bought the last cable for each device, I was determined it was going to be the last, so before I started using the cable, I wrapped white insulating tape around the edge of the cable at each end, tight against both parts which connect with the socket, enough to make the cable stiff, so it does not bend at either end, when charging.

It doesn't look great when you have to charge your devices, as you shouldn't have to do this but mine has lasted nearly a year now, on both cables I have, so a small piece of insulating tape has saved me quite a lot of money. It does seem like a deliberate ploy by Apple, to increase their profits, as they have more than adequate knowledge and expertise, to develop a cable that will last, like other Manufacturers have managed to do, probably as they want to keep their customers long term, whereas Apple do not seem to mind their customers losing faith in their products.

    Lasted 2 months before splitting

    • Written by from Helensburgh

The quality of these cables is shocking. Mine lasted just over 2 months before splitting. £25 down the drain. Come on Apple - your stuff is so good, why let yourself down with lousy cables? Can't find any way to claim a refund but really would like one.

I don't know how apple makes these chargers, I don't care if the style doesn't match, you can still make white cables that lost longer, every few months I need a new cable, I've had my iphone for nearly a year and I've already bought 4 cables, WHY!! you guys need to chill or just give us free chargers if you aren't planning on improving the cables you already make.
Very disappointed apple, I can't believe that a company like you make these bad quality cables, step up your game man!!

    Really, Apple, Really????

    • Written by from Valatie

In the past year, I've purchased FOUR (4) Lightning to USB Cables from Apple. The last one being the 2 m version. And all 4 stopped working. Before buying them through Apple, I was buying them from Amazon or local stores at lower prices. So I decided not to buy any more third party accessories for my Apple products. I figured maybe if I purchase directly through Apple I would get a better product. Boy was I wrong. At first I thought maybe it was something we did. But then, I read the comments and noticed that everyone else had the same problems. Apple should really look in to why this is happening and reimburse their customers. These cables are very expensive and Lord knows we can't keep shelling out 20 or 30 dollars just for the cable especially since the block is sold separately! Apple, PLEASE do something about this!

    Junk Cable

    • Written by from Alexandria

I have just gone thru yet another Apple USB cable. I'm not even sure this last one lasted more than 3-4 months before it started fraying at the end and exposing the wiring. This cable is never unplugged or moved and I'm extra careful in how I attach and detach it from my phone in an attempt to make it last more than a few months. The cheapo one I bought from Target lasted longer. I've learned to always keep an extra one on hand. I even ask for them at Christmas and birthdays now. Get it together Apple.

    Not even a year?

    • Written by from Ballinspittle

I've had an iPhone 5s less than a year and the cable has deteriorated? Yes that right, deteriorated. Although rarely leaving the house, the cable's rubber insulator began by defraying at the iPhone end with eventually gaps forming along most of it's length, thereby revealing the metal shield inside. This is not a particularly healthy situation for other electronic bits, also within the vicinity. I did note that the areas where the insulation had peeled was yellow inside? Isn't this carrying 'recyclable' to an unnecessary extreme? The inside bits will likely still be around when the next set of dinosaurs replace us.

The easy way to double the cost of your iPhone in just two years JUNK

    • Written by from Galloway

Worthless. Our cables never leave the same plug in the house, yet some how they are trash within a very short time. I'm sick of buying the same thing over and over because of the poor quality. I know I can get it warrantied if I drive an hour and twenty min to the apple store and then stand there for 45 min and get a new one... Thanks Apple, Steve would be displeased

ABSOLUTELY THE WORST CORD I'VE EVER USED

    • Written by from Cathedral City

Well it's a new year, so it's time to pony up another $30 to replace my iPhone power cable. This will be the 4th one in 4 years, and I'm JUST USING IT LIKE ANY REGULAR PERSON WOULD. Honestly Apple, how can you let this go on? The company is valued now at $700 billion as of this week, and they can't even make a half-way decent cord? Read the 200 awful reviews on here and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. Pathetic.

disappointed to find that this is a common issue

    • Written by from Acton

I've had several Apple bought lightning cables go bad on me but hadn't realized that it wasn't just my own doing or issue. Now that my second 2 m one went down I had a look around and low and behold the cables themselves are just bad quality!! After having to shell out for countless USB adaptors (and getting rid of no longer functional docks) I want some free replacements! Come on, you made 28 billion dollars profit in one quarter Apple!!! This is the least you can do.
