IF THE IPHONE HAS A COVER IT DOES NOT FIT
Written by MM from Kingscliff

I assume that most people will have covers on their phones so this is useless to them.

Nice.
Written by AR from Christchurch
Aug 27, 2008
Nice product - in my case I don't use the line out, I just use it to charge the phone while at my desk - it's easier than plugging/unplugging cables.
Would have been nice to include the cable, but it does clearly state it does't come with one, so I bought another cable at the same time as ordering the dock.
Basically, it does what it supposed to do while looking elegant and not taking up loads of desk space.1 of 1 people found this useful

Works Well Hands free a bit distorted
Written by DD from Labrador
Aug 27, 2008
The doc is good, after a few uses it is really easy to dock and undock. Hands free mode not very good though, the speaker and mic are covered by the dock which causes some distortion. Audio ports could have been desinged in here to improve this. Also it would be better if there was a black colour option for docks and cables as most equipment today is black. White cables and the dock stand out too much and are arder to keep clean. Overall though quite good.

Nice but doesn't work with my case
Written by JS from Burbank

The dock is a dock. Not much to say other than with my INCASE case the dock does not work. Thats too bad. Apple might want to consider a dock with a bit more tolerance.

NO CABLE INCLUDED
Written by MG from Boulder
Aug 24, 2008
If you still want to be able to use your original cable when you're on the go (and don't want to have to keep plugging and unplugging it from this dock), then the real cost of a iPhone 3G dock is $49. ($30 for this 'stand' and $19 for a USB cable). It NEEDS to be noted on the box that no cable is included because I'm sure that many people made the same mistake I did: thinking that for the already significant price of $30, the dock would come with everything you need. I love my iPhone, but I don't love Apple cheaping out on stuff like this.

Should come with the iPhone 3G
Written by AG from HEXHAM
Aug 21, 2008
Product is great but should have been in the box with the iPhone 3G. I upgraded yesterday from a regular iPhone and was disappointed to find out that my dual dock (headset and iPhone) isn't compatible with the new 3G iPhone - was further suprised to find that the 3G iPhone didn't come with a dock in the box. Very un-apple like!

A Dock is a dock
Written by NZ from FREDERICKSBURG
Aug 21, 2008
What can you say about it? The dock does its job and that is, keeps the iPhone safe and upright. I still feel that this should have come with the 3G because that is what came with the 1st package, but... I would recommend this product to anyone who wants their phone on display and safely propped up

iPhone first generation dock work with a little adjustments

I used my trusty Dremel tool to make my 3G fit my iPhone dock. Works fine. The dock is made of plastic and is easily retrofitted.

Apple Products are Elegant
Written by DB from Lubbock
Aug 19, 2008
I've used Apple products since '87, and most are not only the best, but they're elegant as well. This little dock does what it's supposed to. But if you don't like it, try the Ped3 from Thought Out.
Of course, the Ped3 doesn't come with a cord either because **the cord is included with the iPhone.** If you want two cords, you're going to have to buy another cord, no matter which dock you choose.21 of 34 people found this useful

Hmmm.....
Written by NF from London

"No more reaching behind the computer to plug it in!" - All very well but there has never been any 'reaching behind the computer to plug it in' before as the iPhone used to come with a dock included!
Anyway, does the job exactly as it should but over the last couple of years apple really has started taking the **** with accessories. The iPod used to come with a charger but that was also removed.31 of 37 people found this useful

Great Dock
Written by TA from BOREHAMWOOD
Aug 15, 2008
This dock is perfect for my use. When I am at my desk I just stick the iPhone 3g in and if the computer is switched on (in my case a mac), it will will start charging, launch iTunes and sync straight away. Brilliant!! as I travel a lot and have a separate charger as well. Not worried about the AV out, as - to be honest if I want to listen to music at home I prefer my home theatre receiver and mac mini. Life is great!!! Does not bother me that it was not included with the phone as I got mine for £59, compared to the original iPhone which was £269.

Hmmm
Written by JW from Melbourne
Aug 15, 2008
Love the fact that I can store the phone upright on my desk at work. Only problem is I have to take my case of for it to fit. Might have been nice to have a bit more angle so you could use the phone while it was in the dock without having to pick the whole thing up or take it out of the dock. Could have also been good to have the auto lock disabled when you put the phone in the dock. Worth having. Cheers

No volume control
Written by PC from Prospect

Excellent, simple design, but... the volume control on the iPhone does not control the volume of the speakers plugged into the audio port. This worked fine on my old dock with my iPod touch.

Written by CM from HAMILTON HILL

Well i was abit scared to buy this product! =]
I've read so many reviews which aren't very good but i found some really aren't true!
This product is smaller than what it looks in the Picture.
It is neat and petite!
The only thing i cannot stand about this dock is that i can't wear my Silicone case! =[
All well... =]
Great product, i highly recommend it! =]43 of 63 people found this useful

Cable comes with iPhone
Written by CA from Huntsville

Great product as expected. This review is for those not smart enough to look at what is provided with the iPhone and the dock. Page 3 of the dock manual tells you that the cable came with the iPhone.

You can use this stand as a alarm clock, u can shut off alarm (slide off) one hand with the stand instead of use one hand to hold the phone and other hand to shut off alarm.
and it won't scatch the phone too!23 of 32 people found this useful

If you have pets
Written by RO from Cedar Rapids
Aug 5, 2008
This is a must have if you have pets that ever knock over a glass of water or some such. Leaving your iPhone laying flat on a surface is not safe. My cat has knocked over more glasses and soda cans than I can count, and usually my iPhone is near me and my drink. Shell out the $30 and keep your phone dry. It is too bad (s u c k s apparently is a no-no word) that the new 3G doesn't fit in my dock that came with the original 2G.
