iPod nano Armband
what the ?
Written by CL from Charlotte
Sep 15, 2007
This is terrible terrible terrible. I just upgraded from my mini and I've been dying to use the nike ipod thing (which is great!) but now with this armband I've stopped my workouts early, switched songs accidentally, etc. all when I only wanted to change the volume during my run. The photo provided fails to show you the raised cover over the click wheel. I'll get used to it, but it's a pain to change the volume without doing something unintended.

Awful
Written by DT from laporte
Nov 23, 2007
I am amazed Apple even let people come out with such an inferior product and can sell it on their website. This is worse than the China toy scandal people. It's shoddy, velcro blows, and the plastic cover bends but allows little control over the touch wheel. All and all I would rather lose 30.00 in the street than to have to pay 30.00 for this armband and experience what I've experienced the last 2 months. I'm finally getting to writing this review. Hear everyone's comments...this is the worst armband made. I've seen bandaides with more stamina and appeal.

Scratches the back of the Ipod
Written by JG from Farmingville
Oct 30, 2007
I don't know if any other owners noticed this, but this armband puts little scratches on the back of your ipod. If you take your finger and rub it along the "soft" material in the back, you'll notice rough patches that scrape along the back of your ipod as you place it into the case. Would have been a great design otherwise.

iPod nano Armband
not bad
Written by RM from RICHMOND
Sep 11, 2007
While waiting for Garmin or some another 3rd party solution, this one really isn't bad and is certainly worth the price. The iPod nano is fully enclosed in the front, the armband offers good protection against sweat on screen and scroll wheel AND it has a handy little expandable flap that accomodates the Nike+ transmitter nicely, if you have one. Smart! Given the closed front design evident in the picture on the site, I was sure they'd forgotten this very important feature, but they did not. Well done.
Now, with the praise out of the way, can someone explain to me why other iPods don't work with Nike+??? I would have purchased a larger iPod (classic or touch) were it not for that limitation. I use my iPod almost exclusively for the gym, so the Nike+ is the deal maker/breaker for me. Why is Apple willingly providing an incentive (other than cost!) to buy the cheaper device?606 of 924 people found this useful

As a sporty person found this armband a great idea! ok so not 100% user friendly, then by accident put the strap on upside down, wow makes life esier and the I Pod more accesable to us.
Try it yourself and see.707 of 1220 people found this useful

I think this is a great product! :)
Written by JN from Charleston
Nov 21, 2007
I have had this for about a month now and I think it is a great product for running, cycling, and weight lifting.
I am an avid weight lifter (5 days a week) and cycler/ runner (about 3-4 days a week). So I get a lot of use out of this. I have to say I have no problems with this armband at all. The strap is extremely comfortable, even while sweating and I can just wipe it down after I am finished with the workout. I have had no problems using the wheel through the cover at all and I have pretty big hands. The strap fits very comfortable over my larger arms and I can see plenty of room for growth as my arms are getting bigger all the time. My roommate even borrows it and she is very, very petite.
Overall I am completely satisfied with this purchase and think it is well worth the money.324 of 456 people found this useful

Not worth giving it away...flush it down the toilet
Written by JD

I speciffically came to the apple site to write a bad review for this product. Everything I've read from other reviews is true. If you like to lift weights, or sweat, or run, most likely this product will come undone two or three times during your workout. Not to mention that the plastic screen is very unsensative to the wheel. If your headphones have an extended wire, there's no way to wrap it so that it won't dangle. I had to get creative with some knot tying to get this to work. Lastly, it's difficult to get off and on, especially if you need to position the I-pod so that it doesn't get pinched under your arm. Being that the scroll wheel is unresponsive, you will need to take it off and put it back on to change the music, but I guess this won't be a problem for most people, since it's going to fall off anyways...

Perfect case
Written by OD from PRESTON
Sep 15, 2007
This is the only armband on the market at the moment for the 3g nano but it is brilliant. Its made from very high quality stretchy and soft rubber. The nano fits perfectly into the pouch and is completely covered with see through plastic and the inside is felted so it glides in and out! You can also put your nike transmitter on too. Highly recommended.

Good idea, poor quality manufacture
Written by ED from COVENTRY
Sep 18, 2007
This armband worked fine, at first, fitting it on my arm and using the nano was ok if a little awkward because of where it fits on your arm, which I accepted as a limitation of the concept. However, after the first time of using it one half of the velcro strip holding the flap closed became virtually fully detached and clearly was never properly glued to the armband in the first place. So now I need to get it replaced under warranty. Hopefully, with minimum hassle. So ok only if the quality is up to the task.

Junk

If you sweat, the seams of this iPod Armband will become unglued and come apart after one or two months' use. Since there is no warranty, electrical taper is your only answer. I highly discourage you from purchasing this armband.

The armband is awesome. For Skiers and Snowboarders it's a must have! Not having to worry about it slipping out of the case is sweet.

VELCRO IS HORRIBLE
Written by JM from Hutchinson
Jan 16, 2008
THIS THING WAS RISKY FROM THE BEGINNING AND I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN. THE VELCRO IS DESIGNED IN SMALL CIRCLES ABOUT 1/2 OF AN INCH APART WHICH PREVENTS YOU FROM GETTING THE CORRECT SIZE AROUND YOUR ARM. THE VELCRO IT IS MADE WITH IS VERY WEEK. LONG STORY SHORT. LEFT THE GYM, UNPLUGGED HEADPHONES, IT FELL OFF MY ARM, AND I HAD TO BUY A NEW IPOD. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT. GREAT MARKETING IDEA FROM APPLE THOUGH:)

Decent armband
Written by TC from Tallahassee

I purchased the armband on yesterday and I've used it twice so far. The plastic over the wheel is difficult to use during your workout, however the armband is sturdy and stylish. The armband is adjustable and the nano is secure when fastened.

Not worth the money
Written by ML from Houma
Jan 12, 2008
I wish I would have read the other reviews before I went out and bought one. I didn't even use it to exercise with. I bought one for when I clean house. The plastic cover over the wheel made it very difficult to change the volume and the arm strap would not stay snug. I had to keep pulling it up my arm and tightening it. I will bring it back to the store I bought it. It killed me to pay $28.00 for this but I thought it would be worth it.

Not worth buying
Written by AK
Jan 2, 2008
I got this as a gift, and am going to have to replace it with something that works better. The armband is hard to put on (the strap slips out of the metal loop when you loosen it, and it's hard to thread back through). Worst of all, the plastic over the scroll wheel doesn't let you scroll properly, so you have to take the ipod out of the cover to change what you're listening to.

I would wait...
Written by CO from Boynton Beach
Dec 15, 2007
First the good thing: I like having an armband for when I work out. Overall, I am not satisfied. It is not worth $30. Cheap velcro circles to hold it in place, and it is very difficult to change the volume or song. The plastic is way too thick over the touch wheel. So far, the velcro has "popped loose" several times while working out. I would wait to buy an armband until they perfect it.

This thing stinks. I'm returning mine tomorrow. You can't control the wheel. I don't like how you have to put more effort into changing the volume than your workout.

There Are Better Options Out There
Written by LH from Bothell
Aug 29, 2008
Apple has been pushing the Ipod Armband for most of its Ipod products for years and I have been underwhelmed by this product (I owned three sets). Although it's sleek, small and lightweight, I find that it has TWO MAJOR flaws. One, the velcro is not one continuous strip. That means, you have to pick one velcro patch over another (similar to selecting a hole in a belt). Invariably, you will end up with a fit that is too tight or too loose. Second, the velcro patch will loose its "stickiness" factor over time (from over using). I have experienced numerous incidents where my Ipod came loose as a result of no.2. My advice: skip this product and find other alternatives.

PI$$ poor product!!!!!!
Written by KM from Twin Mountain
Aug 23, 2008
I bought this band when I bought my Nano excited that I would be able to lift weights and use the stepper/ellipticals with tunes. What a disappointment! For all the same reasons previously mentioned regarding the hook and loop fasteners, poor adjustment, inability to get clean more funtionality/control over the Nano and here my friends is the kicker--it retains and transfers enough moisture/sweat after using it that it corroded my Nano's insides in less than ten months use!!! My Nano is a loss. $199.00 and all the time organizing the playlists on that thing. If you use this arm band TAKE THE NANO OUT IMMEDIATELY AFTER YOUR WORK OUT OR IT WILL CORRODE!!!! It may still allow enough moisture to get to the Nano over time that you may lose it anyway. I would not buy this arm band again.

Works Great!
Written by CB from Hoffman Estates
Feb 15, 2008
I purchased this product first, then read all the reviews after. After seeing all the negative, to say the least I was a little worried. However, I decided to give it a try once I received it in the mail. I will admit it is the first (and only) arm band I have used, but I think it works great. I honestly have no complaints. I noticed a lot of people complained about the plastic over the volume control, I haven't had a problem. I also don't know if any other armband would be any better, unless of course there was nothing covering the wheel. I think it's a great product!
