    Consider...

Written by JW from SAINT CHARLES

    Aug 24, 2005

You would think these are really stupid, and they don't offer much protection, but consider how many cases...

    are compatible with iTrip?

can be put on backwards to cover the iPod while plugged in or on the dock?

    are machine washable?

fit both the iPod and iPod mini?

I started skeptical, but have grown to be quite a fan. As long as you don't drop the iPod, these will keep it safe and looking cool, and you can use them to hold other things besides the iPod.

    inconvenient and expensive

yes they may look funky and you can match them up to your dress code but they dont give much of a protection to your ipod and you have to take your i pod out to use it.there basically expensive cloths and i think your money would be better spent on something that will actually protect your ipod from all the eliments.

    Total Waste

    Written by ES from Cheyenne

    Sep 18, 2005

These are totally rediculous. My wife bought them because they looked 'cute.' Considering the iPod slides out of them at least once a day and you can't access the buttons once it's inside, I consider this a serious waste of money ($30!?). My wife's iPod is all scratched up because of it. I leave my iPod mini in my armband all day long and have no troubles whatsoever. For $30 go by yourself some socks that are actually for your feet, or better yet, buy some other case. I would rate these a 'zero' but it won't let you rate that low.

    iPod goes back to School

    Written by JB from WIGAN

    Aug 28, 2005

School can be a dangerous place. Here I have written a review based on the experiences of a teenager in a Middle England High School.
Style: Rather than buy the boring black cases, I felt that something more vibrant was called for. These are stylish, cool, even, dare I say, 'hip'. And that is the first point I would like make.
Practicality: For most people this is paramount. These allow the iPod to fit slimly into trouser pockets, (blazer) inside-pockets and bags.
Safety: When in the sock, the iPod is protected from scratches, and 'injuries' of the type.
*Note: When in the Apple iPod Sock, your iPod is not invincible!
So, there you have it, the 'Socks can easily match up to the other cases out there and surpass them.
Thanks for reading and tips will happily be received. There's a box near the exit. Bye!

    Great Purchase

    Written by CG from Wadsworth

    Sep 26, 2005

I don't know what people have against the amazingly convienient, and portable socks. I happen to find this purchase one of the best bargains I have ever found. When I first purchased my iPod, I bought a Jam Jacket (A Gel Jacket, That Is Made Out Of Flexiable Plastic.), within a month I tore it takeing out iPod to put it into my audio system. I was looking for a new jacket when I found these. They are great. They have just as much, if not more protection that a gel jacket, and come in every color to match your outfit. I already dropped my iPod, and it didn't even leave a mark. I also used to have problems with people reading my iPod, but with this on it only you know what song you are listening to. Great Purchase, 100% Satisfaction!

    iPod socks/infant socks

    Written by GT from Sparta

    Aug 27, 2005

While the iPod socks look cool, they are extremely expensive. I find them useful because they do keep out dust (I mow about 7 acres every weekend). They are also effective for protecting the finish on your iPod when the iPod is in your pocket with keys, change, etc. However, it would be just as effective to buy infant socks and pay $1 a pair. They also come in different colors, many of which I will never put on my iPod. At almost $30 for six, you're better off with the infant socks.

    great buy!

They work perfect on my nano. i read the review of a sock getting ruined in the dryer so when mine get dirty i just soak it in the sink then hang it to dry. They come in alot of cool colors but i usually just use grey or blue. when i charge my nano i put on the sock backwards so it doesnt get scratched on my desk. or when i put it in my pocket so the screen doesnt get ruined. GREAT BUY!

    Great, surprisingly

    Written by RR from richmond

    Apr 26, 2009

I'll admit that when I first saw the iPod socks I thought that they were pointless and would be a complete waste of money. Although they were, admittedly, cute....Then I got a set of them for Christmas. To counteract the "money wasting" factor I decided that instead of keeping them all for myself I would regift a few. The pointlessness, however, needed no assistance. They were great! The socks were durable and could be used for more than just the iPod and prevented all sorts of scratches and dents. So, in the end the iPod socks were NOT a waste of money and definetely not pointless. And I was VERY pleasantly surprised.

though this product is very useful. it is also pricy.$30 for 6 socks is very expensive. i suggest that they should lower the price to $20 which is very reasonable.

I would want to tell people that think that these socks are nothing but a waste of money that they should reconsider. I have bought these the same time i bought my iPod from the only Apple dedicated reseller in Romania and they are soooo great! I can take my iPod out for a walk and, if i end up in a fast food restaurant and i want to take him out of my pocket, i don't have to worry about dirt and scratches. And if the socks get dirty, i can always put them in the washing machine :) Speaking of which, i shoud really wash my green sock tommorow :D

    Cutesy yet impractical

Written by RD from Sheffield Lake

    Aug 23, 2005

While these are not boring or typical like the clear plastic cover I had originally, they don't protect as well, but serve as a great little 'iPod cozy' while carrying the iPod in my purse. It also keeps the screen/iPod body clean and scratch free.I don't have a problem switching songs by hitting the buttons through the material, but some of you might. I found them colorful and cute, but definately not what you'd want if you're looking for something hardcore to protect against all terrain bumps and scratches.

    These are cool because:

Lots of different colors, choose 1 every day!

Protects your device from scratches (iPhones are durable these days, forget about breaking them)

    Soft and good-looking

    Good for bags, purses, etc.

Great for winter time because you can put 2 and it actually suprisingly keeps your iphone/ipod warm enough to not freeze up like my nano!!

    Perfect for Basic Protection

    Written by NG from Rockville

These are great if you just want to protect your iPod from scratches when it's in your pocket or something. If you're looking for something to keep your iPod intact when it gets to the dog, these don't work. But if you, as I said before, just want to keep it scratch-free or even OK when you drop it, these are fine. they're especially great for the 1st, 2nd, and 4th generation iPod nano because they're proportioned the same way.

    classicly ahdorable.

Written by MG from Miami Shores

    ok.
so these are probably the best cases they have ever invented.
they have been around since probably the first ever iPod.
i have the first generation iPod nano.
and they were great for it
[although you have to wash and shrink them first because they are kinda big]
    but they were ahmazing.
    despite what everyone says
you can drop it and it gives great protection.

    now.
i just bought a iPod touch.
    and its great!
    i have two cases
    the socks
    and the leather incase case.
and when i dont want to hook my ipod to my clothes
or if i want to be able to put my ipod in my bag without scratching the screen.
then i take out my socks.
    and they are absolutely perfect.

they come in 5 or 6 colors and they are so comfy.
sometimes i wish i could be the iPod =D
you can even use it for things other than your iPod.
when im not using one out of the 5 socks i use them for
    my phone
    or my other iPod
    my camera
    and plenty other things

overall its a absolutely wonderful product.
i recomend it to anyone with a
    -iPod touch
    -iPod classic
    -iPhone
    [and many other electronic devices]

For those considering the 'socks' -->

    Written by CF from Franklin

    Jan 23, 2006

Whoever said this load of hogwash was sorely
    mistaken :
: the socks scratch the ipod
: the socks detract from the function
: the socks are way too expensive
: the socks don't match the sweater
but you know what, I bought the socks
and you know what, The other reviews are wrong...

I am the proud new owner of the amazing ipod nano and the socks do not 'scratch' the ipod. The socks leave little streaks on it but if you were the good owner ,as I assume you are, you probably read that little booklet with that little paragraph on 'how to care for your ipod'.
The booklet says to put a damp cloth on the ipod to clean it, as I'm sure you already knew. Now you may have to press a little on the ipod but once you clean it, guess what? No streaks! Amazing what a little cleaning will do for you. And it looks brand new! Amazing...

The socks do not detract from the function. Here are the simple instructions on how to use ipod with ipod sock:
    1. When tired of certain song take ipod out of sock
    2. Choose new song and insert back into the sock
I have a friend who bought a tube and said how she hated that it made her ipod nano look huge and how she hated getting it in and out of the tube - what a bummer. As long as you don't drop your ipod you're okay, Okay?
In fact when as long as you are wearing your heaphones around your neck and they are plugged in your ipod nano even if you try to drop them, the ipod will hang onto the plug because it is lightweight and the plug has such a strong hold.
Okay, so I admit, the socks are tad bit expensive. If you are a guy like me you probably could go out and buy some infant socks and be considered A. a baby snatcher or B. an odd person. But hey, if you're going out of your way to buy an ipod instead of a normal MP3 player, why not atleast pay some respect and buy the brand name?
And for the ladies, my girlfriend says they'll definitely match the sweater. 'Caus you know they come in a pack of five. And yes, they're machine washable.
Now what do you say to the other 'reviews'?

    Worth Every Penny !!!!

    Written by RG from Plainfield

    Dec 19, 2007

I bought these for my daughter's Nano last month and since I just got my iPod Touch last week, I'm now using the darker colors for me - gray and blue. Absolutely cool (I should have thought of it!!). For the people who are whining... these are SOCKS folks, just like what you wear.. they get dirty and they wear out (and they're cheap at $5 each). Live with it - HELLO..

Just like when we all paid alot extra for an iPod instead of a regular MP3 player - they're pretty cool and they look good. If you want heavy duty protection - buy a hard case or a leather sleeve.
