Apple iPod Socks
Total Waste
Written by ES from Cheyenne
Sep 18, 2005
These are totally rediculous. My wife bought them because they looked 'cute.' Considering the iPod slides out of them at least once a day and you can't access the buttons once it's inside, I consider this a serious waste of money ($30!?). My wife's iPod is all scratched up because of it. I leave my iPod mini in my armband all day long and have no troubles whatsoever. For $30 go by yourself some socks that are actually for your feet, or better yet, buy some other case. I would rate these a 'zero' but it won't let you rate that low.

Be careful!
Written by CG from Murrieta

I have the 30 GB video iPod and while using this sock after a few days......I could see vertical lines in the wheel......argh!
...I guess this happened because the inside fabric of the sock was "rubbing' against the wheel.
I don't know if this would show in the white unit, but it did in my black one.
...can I rate this no stars?150 of 217 people found this useful

This is the best and only protection apple is offering for their "BEST IPOD EVER" aka Ipod touch? Don't get me wrong. The socks come in a variety of colors and does protect the ipod touch... when is not in use. But for $30.00 I want something that not only protects my beautiful ipod touch while it is stored but also when it is in use.

They call this a case?
Written by RF from Frankfort
May 21, 2006
First off, functionality of the case:
The case while soft and may clean your iPod while in transport from movement does not protect your screen or case in any way from impact.
Price:
Your buying a modified sock with the Apple namebrand associated with it. $30.00 for a function pointless piece of cloth? Absurd!
Conclusion:
Spending $30.00 for something you can make (and be a lot cooler because YOU made it) that costs less than two dolars to make is very unreasonable. If you want a "sock" for your iPod, please PLEASE take a sock, cut it in half, and sew the bottom together.167 of 257 people found this useful

Yes they are cute.
Yes they do protect your iPod
But honestly,
I found knitting patterns on the internet
for iPod socks that are exact replicas
I am making one now
and the yarn only cost three dollars
so if you kow how to knit,
I strongly sugguset you make your own
and if you dont,
learn.115 of 173 people found this useful

ok well i was reading reviews on this item before i bought it and some were good and some were bad i went and wasted 30 bucks on these socks and do you know where they are now?.....lost in the back of my closet.....they look adorable and cozy but you will use them for one day and it will dawn on you that theyre pointless.....everytime you need to use your ipod you have to take it out of the sock, do what you need, and put it back in.....it might not sound like a big deal but trust me it gets annoying after a while.....take my word and spend your 30$ on something more useful.....

Socks?
Written by MW from Ithaca

Why not just use a normal, non-Apple branded sock? All this product did was give me the idea to protect my iPod with one of my many "bachelor" socks whose partner has gone to the great laundry basket in the sky.

Utterly pointless for the price
Written by EP from Passaic

The only people who should consider getting these are those who just use the iPod in a pocket of some sort. You can't use the buttons while inside, and the $30 price tag is outrageous. It offers no protection, except against minor scratching. If a pack was, for example, only $5, I would think it a very cute idea, and maybe practical.
Come on, Apple, you can do better than this.57 of 90 people found this useful

these socks may be colorful but other than that there is nothing good about them! my ipod slipped out into a puddle and completly broke! and they get holes in them after a while i would never spend this much money of a sock again. apple made a mistake making these because they dont have enough protection.

DON'T BUY - scratched my Video iPod
Written by ES from Cambridge
Jan 12, 2006
WARNING! These socks are too thin and too tight to be of use. I assumed an Apple product would not scratch my expensive 60 GB video iPod, but after 2 uses, sure enough, a large scratch and many tiny ones appeared caused by pulling the sock off and on... and I had to pay $24 for the the privilege of scratching my screen. I don't get it. 2 or 3 socks that are thicker and looser might work.

Don't buy this product
Written by PR from Upton
Nov 29, 2005
I bought the iSocks to cover my new ipod with video. I later found out that the sock was scratching the screen. Little pieces of debris could get through the sock and would scratch the screen. It doesnt protect the ipod at all. What made it worse is because the sock stretches to fit around my ipod, and it lost its elasticity and would fall off. Alltogether the iSock is a rip off and your ipod would be better protected with nothing covering it.

Awfull
Written by GP from St-Eustache

I read lot's of reviews and i don't get it... My wife got them and I think it actually her worst purchase ever, sure they... well actually they dont do much! The iPod slips out, you can't see your screen, they don't even look good! The best word to describe them is, in my opinion, awfull! I bought an other case for my iPod and it perfect, I can keep my privacy of songs thanks to a flap on the front, i see my screen thanks to a rubber rectangle, i have easily acces to the buttons, it very resistant, etc... WAY better then this in all aspects! Yea, of course i had only 1 of it and not 6 ugly but machable case, but it looked good at basics and if u keep your iPod in your purse, why do you really want it to look good anyway? It just suprising people actually find something good to this product except : you can wash it...

Apple iPod Socks
Worthless
Written by KA

Why people would buy these socks to protect their iPod is completely beyond me. The following is a list of why these socks are junk:
1. They provide no protection whatsoever for your iPod. Your iPod can slip out, and if you drop it, it had better be on a pillow- otherwise it will break.
2. If a fun case is what you're looking for, there are many sturdier cases out there that are actually cheaper than these socks. Some people complain that the sturdy cases' plastic screen protectors collect dirt and dust, scratching the iPod's screen. To that, I say, maybe once a day, just wipe the plastic cover with a damp cloth or tissue, and voila! your case won't scratch.
3. You could knit or buy socks at a store that do the same thing as the iPod socks, at a much better price.
4. You can't access the Click Wheel or see the screen while the sock is on. Some people say that they can push the buttons through the sock, but what if you want to look at photos on the screen?
5. For reason #4, you constantly have to take the iPod out of its sock. This is a hassle and dangerous distraction while you are driving, and annoying any other time.
These Apple iPod socks are a ridiculous and expensive buy, and you are better off finding a sturdy case or a pair of kid's socks.

NO! This is a terrible product to throw money at. You don't have access to the click wheel, it slides off, it doesnt wrap around your arm or anything. If you want a sock for your iPod, go to walmart and buy a kids sock for $4, at least you can get Sponge Bob or something that way!

Sliding the Nano in and out to see the screen and access the buttons gets quite annoying. If you decide to go the sock route, use one of yours that does not have a match!

Socks?!
Written by JZ from Pacifica

I went to stonestown to get a case for my iPod video so it didn't get scratched. I found that there wasen't any cases avalible there for it exept the Ipod socks. I snagged them, but I got bored of them because it's not very convenient to stick it it your pocket, and it's just downright enbarrassing to have it out in public. Might as well just shove the thing in one of my own wool socks. The're waaaaay overpriced. I mean, I paid 30 bucks (CA tax) for socks.
