Useless?
Written by CL

These may look cute, but they're quite expensive - just for a tiny little sock - and they don't seem to have much grip on the iPod, which might let it slide out... I think many people already know this.

they are okay

The ipod socks are new and "fresh". They make your ipod look original and fun. I could go on listing all the good and bad...but that would take a while. I would recommend this for anyone who just wants their ipod to look nice, but its not for good protection. It's good to keep small scratchs off, but overall, is more for the looks than convienence. Some people want that, so if you do, why not buy it?

on the fence

pros:
they are really cool, and fit all sizes of ipod. The vibrant colours can make up for the dullness of a black or silver ipod, especially since earlier models and ipod touches only came in certain colours.
cons:
they really don't protect your ipod, and they are overpriced. If you want to keep care of your ipod, buy a better case that will prevent scratching.
I bought one, since i have a ipod touch it looks nice and everything, but it look's pretty stupid on my ipod nano (2nd generation)
i think that they are expensive, but if it makes you happy buy it, just be prepared to see imperfections in yout ipod and buy another, more realistic case for when nobody cares how your ipod looks.
hope that helped..
p.s: i'd give it a two and 1/2 but i couldn't300 of 492 people found this useful

NO WAY JOSE

Although the exterior of this item may seem apealing really it is just a complete gimic. They don't protect the ipod well and the buttons aren't accessable while the sock is on. The product does have a very cool case though but basically your paying 30 bucks for a cool case.

Colorful? Yes. Functional? Not So Much.

I bought the iPod socks because the cute colors attracted me, and I liked that you could get six for thirty dollars. But this product doesn't work! It was actually difficult for me to wedge my iPod into these little socks (they're not that stretchy) and if you don't have aluminum iPods, these socks scratch the outside. I would not recommend purchasing the socks. I feel that if you want to dress up your iPod in different colors, get the tubes, because at least with those, you can still manage your click wheel with the case on.

Apple iPod Socks
ok...

I feel like these aren't worth the price. I agree that they aren't very useful as a case, because you have to take the iPod out to use the click wheel or see the screen. Also I don't feel they are very protective, because when you have your iPod out of the sock using it, the iPod can still get scratched. I would get a clear plastic case for protection and use these as decoration.

They look cute. But your ipod slips out of them, which makes them fall on the ground. Ipod cases are suppost to protect them, and these 'socks' dont. Also you cant push buttons or see the screen.
Dont buy it.30 of 55 people found this useful

The socks don't protect the nano like it should be protected. You could take your own sock and put your nano in it and it would be no different.

yes these ipod socks are in sweet colors, but they DO scratch your ipod. I just got the 4gb green nano and put the green sock on...yes, matching :) and a day later i noticed a scratch on the side of the ipod. I once read that these aren't good because of the breaking down of the fibers in the cloth.

Overpriced
Written by LH from CONGLETON
Jul 22, 2006
The socks are a good idea and prevent the ipod from being scratched and the range of colours means you can match your sock with your outfit, however I think they are extremely overpriced. It would only cost a few pounds to knit these socks yourself - Apple are using the fact that nanos scratch way too easily to get people to buy the socks to avoid worse damage - I was one of these people. I wouldn't recommend getting these for the price as you can get other cases and socks from independent shops and markets that would do just as good a job.

Apple iPod Socks
appealing but not practical
Written by AT from Cypress

I bought these because I love the quirky idea! I was a little disappointed though, because they are very thin and I thought there would at least be an inside protective lining.
I want to keep my iPod in good condition, and I expected more from Apple with the manufacturing of these 'socks' considering they cost $30!
They may be better suited for protecting a Nano, as my 60GB video stretches out the material to the max!37 of 64 people found this useful

This is a fantastic product. However, a $29 pricetag for a piece of a sock is ridiculous. I cut the top off an orange sock I never wore and sewed the bottom up. It is identical to the product pictured.

i love the look of these but im pretty sure that they scratch my ipod screen REALLY bad. besides the fact that its easy to scratch in the first place, dust gets embedded in the fibers and continues to scratch the screen and even the back side.
