Bad news for HP Photosmart 7520 owners- part1 of 6 or 8

    • Written by from Morgantown

I'm one of the unfortunate purchasers of the 7520 and my problems "started" with the infamous faulty wireless problems, especially just after the printer goes to sleep. I called HP and talked with a HP rep in the Phillipines, for 1 hour and 20 minutes. .

    Great out of the box

    • Written by from Milwaukie

Spent almost as much time unpacking and removing the blue safety/shipping tape as I did with the setup. 20 minutes from start to adding to my wireless network and printing with my MacBook Air, iPhone5s and iPad Mini. I did not download and install HP software because everything worked out of the box. I hope the rest of my experience is as good as the setup.

    My Ideal Small Business Printer

    • Written by from Chippenham

This is my 4th Photosmart printer from HP. Others worn out or donated to Family.
    Pros:

    * Separate ink cartridges - Saves ink.
    * Duplex Printing - Saves paper.
    * Separate photo paper feed and auto feed for scanning - Saves messing about.
    * Faster than previous models and with better scan to computer menus - Saves time.
    * Improved, more eco friendly packaging. - Saves the World?

    Cons:

    * A little bulkier, but not much.
    * Marginally more expensive.

    Very happy with this one.

    Excellent quality and features

    • Written by from Glasgow

Finally a printer which is made for the busy person! This printer is perfect for any mid - semi business person, it has quite a lot of features for the price. you can email print remotely, print on both sides of the paper automatically which saves a lot paper! and also print high quality images. it doesn't take a genius to setup; simple and easy menu layout

the only drawback would be the price of the ink, but HP has a feature called Instant ink which lets you pay a monthly small fee and they send you ink in the post before you run out! its brilliant cost saving.

    Great printer; no issues

    • Written by from Rye

We have had the Photosmart 7520 for about 1 month. The set up was very easy, with wifi printing possible out of the box from the new iMac without an issue as well as immediate printing available from iPad and iPhone. Was also able to set up scan to email (have not tried scan to computer yet) and fax service with no issues.

For my older Macbook Pro, I downloaded and installed drivers from HP. There was no issue on installation. When I went to "Add Printer", however, there was a bit of glitch in the last stage when -- after picking the printer from the list -- in the bottom window I needed to change the printer to "Apple AirPrint Printer" (as opposed to Photosmart 7520) to make it work, but have had no issues since then.

Print quality of photos seems good, although I have no real way to compare with others -- but no issues at all I can see with the naked eye.

    Superb, for the 1st Time

    • Written by from Millersville

Purchased the HP 7520 e-AioP directly from Apple Store, and for the first time, I have a printer fully functioning with my iMac. Setting up took awhile, so follow directions VERY CAREFULLY. Duplex printing, copy, and fax work fine. Have not tried scanning yet. Further, the printer is very fast, especially at copying. My iPad recognized it , and for the first time am printing wirelessly from anywhere in the house. Cost of inks is expensive, but that goes with any printer, and clubs always have deals. The printer is one month old, so if problems arise, I will revisit site. For now though, I am happy. Happy Printing!

I bought this printer about a month ago. I have an iPhone five and an iPad 3. I am very pleased with its performance with both devices. When selected, it will also automatically do two-sided copying.

Great match for both my Mac and iPad

    • Written by from Surprise

I love this printer and have been using it for about six months. It works great wirelessly with both my Mac and iPad. Easy set up (and I am NOT a techie). Touch front screen is very easy to use and I've been happy with the quality of both printing and copying. Scan works fine for emailing documents. I have not used it for faxing anything. It does a nice job of printing photos as I do a lot of scrapbooking. This is my 3rd HP all-in-one printer and so far, my favorite for functionality and quality.

Spectacular print quality and ease of use

    • Written by from Berkeley

When our old printer gave up the ghost, I finally decided to buy an all-in-one, and man am I glad I did. The AirPrint functionality works flawlessly, so I can print and scan from my iOS devices. Printouts are gorgeous, especially when using inkjet paper: on par with a laser printer. Don't hesitate.

    A pleasant surprise

    • Written by from Boca Raton

Though not a fan of HP printers, I was pleasantly surprised with this printer. Easy to set up. the print quality is great as well as the two paper trays, great for pictures without having to change paper, but can of course print photos on regular paper. I found the ink, if you put it on draft, prints as well as normal, and will extend the life of the ink cart. save the special ink settings for important pictures or legal documents. it is a waste of ink to print everyday things such as text docs with normal printing. I use this setting for insurance forms and have not found any loss in quality of print.

For the price it is a great printer, and the cart. are very reasonably priced.

I can print with my iphone & iPad from anywhere

    • Written by from Davie

Set up was a breeze. I hooked it up to my network & our 2 laptops effortlessly. When I installed the apps on our ipones & ipads I was amazed at what I could do. Having paper trays (one for paper & one for photo paper) is it's best asset. The printer has a "brain". When you print a photo it chooses the right setting and the photo tray & produces high quality photos, right from my iphone. Draft printing is super fast & very good quality. Best printer I have ever had & it does it all.

Excellent wireless performance with Apple products and more!

    • Written by from Sandwich

After so much research on wireless printer performance with Apple products, I took a chance on the HP 7520. If you read enough user reviews you will not want to try any.

I did not install the HP software on my MacBook Air, but instead set it up on the wireless network as a stand alone device. It has worked flawlessly with this laptop, 2 iPads, an iPhone 5 and also an Android phone. I have used it for multiple full color 4X6 and 8 1/2X11 photos and documents and have scanned directly to the iPads and both phones using the HP apps. I love the effortless double sided printing, and also keeping both paper sizes loaded at the same time, and not having to choose which to use. My biggest concern was having complications with my Apple laptop, but so far all features have worked so easily while maintaining print/scan quality. I have been using this printer 100% wirelessly and loving it!

can't be beat for the price

    • Written by from Fort Worth

I considered both this printer and the Artisan 837. I went with the HP and am glad I did. I had none of the set up or connection issues mentioned by some other reviewers. I have not used the USB cable and have had a very solid WiFi connection. If the HP printer software is installed on your Mac (mine is running OS 10.7) the scan-to-computer function works fine. I've used all the functions except for fax and had no issues. AirPrint works great, including the ability to choose 2 sided printing from your iPhone/iPad. And, for me at least, with quality paper this printer outputs beautiful photo prints that I think are as good as the lab. The pre-installed apps are mostly fluff (coloring pages, etc) but probably would be useful with children. The quick forms app came in handy when I was tutoring my niece and we needed some graph paper.
