    Haters gonna hate

Folks, nevermind the naysayers as they have never heard of equalizers (or maybe they forgot to take the plastic off lolz). This is an A-one product. Sounds fantastic looks great and blows away virtually every desktop or device speaker I have ever had the misfortune of using before the Jawbone! For realz!!!

    Poor construction, incompetent customer service

    • Written by from NEW YORK

Don't buy this thing. I'm on my third in four months: the first one arrived broken, the second broke within a month (no, I didn't drop it -- it just stopped working), and the third has managed to survive, but I'm already seeing gaps in the casing that are going to let moisture and dust inside. The USB cord bent next, and it took customer service three tries to get the right one sent out. It takes them forever to deal with service issues, and frankly I think there are better speakers out there; the Jambox is good (when it's working), but you can always hear a faint hiss in the background, and you have to choose between clarity and volume. I see that the price has come down from $200; if it gets down to around $150, I might reconsider, but for now, when this third one breaks, I'm trying another brand. I've had enough.

    DO NOT BUY! :(

    • Written by from Downtown

Someone rightly said as to not to judge a "bluetooth speaker" by the way it looks. Having owned a Monster iClarity (Seriously loud), X-mini KAI (fits in ur palm but still as loud as ur Ma) and a Bose Soundlink (won't compare with this one now) i expected JAMBOX to sound as good as Monster iClarity or even better but it turned out to sound only as good or less as my iPhone 4S. Bought today, returning tomorrow. I don't get how a company like Jawbone can get away with this. How dissapointing!!

    Really Awesome Speakers!

    • Written by from Las Vegas

I love listening to music. Though this speaker is small, size doesn't mean everything. This speaker can be heard throughout my whole room. I recommend this item if you need portable speakers that you can take everywhere and want to start a party!

Best speaker purchase ever for iPhone and iPad

    • Written by from STEVENS POINT

I have always had docking speakers for my iPhones and iTunes and were nice. I picked up the Jawbone on the one-day Verison special on Black Friday for half price. When I got back to daughter's house I turned it on, it paired right away and we put on some dance tunes. Despite having to go do more shopping, we danced to the awesome sound coming from this small speaker. It was like have a large stereo in the family room. And Bluetooth pairing makes it so portable. I think my docks have had their day. With the protective carrying case and ability to update drivers by MyTALK, microphone for phone calls and provided charger, this is what I am going to carry around when in the house and on travel; no cords, no docking, pure bass sound and responsiveness. YES!!

Love this Jambox, the best by far!

    • Written by from Miami Lakes

Without question the best and smallest, by far, speaker for traveling with your iDevices! I have used and carried with me in my travels all kind of contraptions because I need to have my music (and movies) with me! I was a bit reserved because of its small size, but when I press "play" I was blown away!!! BONUS: wireless (easy to set up), it talks to you about the (long) battery status, you can use your iPhone (it pauses and it has a microphone)! I absolutely love it!

    Impressive portable speaker

If you are looking for a small, portable, battery driven Bluetooth speaker you should take a hard look at this little gem. This speaker produces pleasing audio for a package this small.

Not as good as made out to be

    • Written by from scarborough

Yes its small and yes well made BUT this does not go as loud as people make out, distorts at high volume, does not connect to macbook pro to well. If you want a small bluetooth speaker the Bose sound link is the one, you will put the Jambox outside with you and the sound is gone. Took mine back and paid the extra for the Bose or go cheaper and buy the Bose sound dock - ok its not bluetooth but will eat this thing

    Love this!

This little speaker does a bang-up job! It connects in a second and it sounds awesome for such a small package. I take it with me to Europe when I travel as I frequently need to do an impromptu conference call and it works like a charm. The sound is crisp and clear and plenty loud. No, it isn't going to make you think you're in Carniegie Hall, but if that's an unreasonable expectation for this device. In a normal roon, though, it fills the space with sound easily.

    Great but doesn't last

    • Written by from Redwood Park

Had my Jambox for 18 months. Worked fantastic for the first year and then I noticed it kept having problems with the buttons being unresponsive. I learned how to do factory resets frequently to fix these annoying glitches. After a while the jam box wouldn't even charge. I discovered the USB connection had completely broken away from the circuit board making it useless. This is a common problem that has been written about on the forums. Great speakers but faulty workmanship. Now I have a brick that can't be recharged. I am not willing to spend money getting it fixed just to have it happen again. I went and spent the extra on the Bose Soundlink Mobile Speakers. Can't compare the quality of the sound and the materials. Like a rolls royce.

    Jawbone by jambox

I bought this wireless speaker for its portability and as well as the durability. After having it for around a week it has occurred that this speaker for its size is extremely loud. It can fill up a whole room. But before at max volume distortion does start to occur. And updating the product is difficult as many errors may occur.

The highs don't come through that well. But mids are ok. The bass is quiet punchy. For a small speaker it is ok, but for portability it is excellent. The major drawback to this product is the price at $250A most people will overlook this product. And I agree it's not worth the price. But for portability and easy Bluetooth connection, it is ok. It's has a nice design too.

Amazing Portable Sound from a Magic Black Box!!

    • Written by from Bristol

Sound quality is excellent and more than loud enough when live audio is off. Great for filling the room with sound, watching a movie or listening to the radio. I take it to the park and use it in the car, it's easily portable and stable. Easy to clean. Very simple to set up and use. Connecting devices is easier than connecting them with a wire. Stylishly simple and inconspicuous when not in use... very noticeable when playing music!

    Excellent!

A bit over priced but worth it

The Jawbone Jambox is a small portable speaker that you can safely throw in your bag and not worry about damaging it in the process. It's sounds good for a small sealed speaker. It does tend to bounce itself off smooth surfaces so make sure you put a small piece of cloth under it if you're going to put it on a glass surface. It managed to jumped off my glass desk several times before I figured out this small trick.

I got the green special edition one but would have been happy to get the red model. I was ablle to use the speaker phone feature in my car with my iphone.

Dont expect bone shaking bass from this unit even though you can clearly feel the bass when you hold the speaker in your hand.

Overall it's a capable speaker for its size.

    Fantastic little box

    • Written by from Turramurra

If you have an iPad chances are you're quite mobile, be it around the house or on the go. This is where Jambox comes in handy, if you want to go beyond the built-in speaker.

Jambox has two speakers delivering a respectable sound for its format. Some people rated this box badly, but I believe you have to take this box for what it is: It's not meant to replace your home cinema stereo and it's not meant to compete with speakers three times the price. While these might give you better sound, they're a lot less portable. Please consider that.

You can upgrade the Jambox via its supplied USB cable with your computer to set start-up and shut down sounds via Jawbone's web site. The arcade one is quite cute, but it's more of a gimmick than useful, and I'd rather see an Australian voice added than the built-in US voice. The voice is also used as a feedback for battery charge status, which is quite cool and better than a display. The connection with your Mac/PC can also be used for firmware upgrades, if needed.

Connection to your device is via Bluetooth or direct link with a 3.5mm cable. The direct cable is straight forward with no moving to settings, but the Bluetooth connection is equally easily established (though I did hit a snag connecting it to my iPhone 4S on occasion).

Battery charge: The battery lasts a good while. I haven't measured the time it holds a full charge, but it's sufficient to stay on a charge for a couple of days if you use it for an hour or two daily.

Finally, the looks of the Jambox is great. You can keep it on your lounge's shelf as a piece of art and have it play back from your iPad. It doesn't look like a speaker at first.

Just worth it for the design alone

    • Written by from Brisbane

I love this product. Design wise its simply beautiful. The sound is great when connected to the special cable. When used wireless the volume disappoints a bit but the quality of the sound is pretty good. I like the fact that it has speakers on all 4 sides which gives an entertaining and refreshing new feel to the music. But otherwise this beautifully designed box will rock itself off your dining table. Could be a little bit cheaper but I suppose you pay for design. This product also comes with access to a dedicated website offering the latest apps/improvements and downloads. An evolving product for years of enjoyment.
